It's not like he said "boy, you really suck at life because of this custom". I'm sure the creator of this piece is well confident and knows about the high quality of his work. A little constructive criticism aimed at helping him do even better work is not a bad thing. Sometimes compliments come in other forms than "OMG WOW you rule that's awesome post count +1!!!!"

Yeah, I'm gonna be the dissenting opinion on this one.
While obviously well-crafted, I don't think the canvas webgear works with the aesthetic of this scale. The difference in material between them and the flat plastic of the base figure is jarring. I generally only support softgoods for coats and capes at this scale, and even then only to preserve posability. I also think the custom could have benefitted from being less slavish to the Sideshow model. As it is, it's fairly bland. All the work you put into that webgear gets lost in this sea of black. An accent color to offset that would give it some needed contrast and focus the eye. Quote:
Thanks again everyone. I'm glad 99% of you like it as much as I do. There are a few minor things I would do differently next time, but I'm very pleased with the finished piece. The real question at this point is - what's next? |

Dude, I cant even paint an uzi the right color without screwing it up. Un-freakin-real in a 4 in size! The degree of awesomeness of this custom is measured on a freakin giger counter! I want one!

You've done a superb job, as I said in your WIP thread.
You hit it dead on. Now if only hasbro was smart enough... Quote:
These first two are of Marine Force Recon. That last one there is one of the few confirmed actual pictures of the fabled Special Operations Detachment Delta or "delta force." They are the guys in the Multicam (to the left). Now this last picture isn't of an actual member of the military, but he is however, a reenactor with a very accurate Special Air Service kit. Just to give an example of another nations military. Just goes to show, that gear is there to save your life and assist you in strenuous situations.

Putting it in a box filled with peanuts and shipping it to me.
After that....... A custom Storm Shadow, then repeat the above actions.
