Agreed and agreed.
Irid, are you getting a bagged set as well? I know you probably posted as much already but I'm too lazy to go back and look. |

Nah, my plan is to just buy a boxed set via the Homefront Hero package.

I've forgotten completely - who is left to show at this point?

So, not leveling any accusations here, but; I just caught and reported a fraudulent charge on a credit card, got it dealt with. In the past month this card had been used for four different online purchases
1. Amazon. 2. Squarespace. 3. Kickstarter. 4. A certain action figure collector's club. On whom is my suspicion most encouraged to fall? Just sayin', maybe check the cards you used if you made a 2nd FSS payment. NOT an accusation. Who knows how a scammer got my number. But I bet it wasn't Amazon!

Ugh, not good. Sorry to hear it dude. Could have been any of the above, or a middleman who was in the right place at the right time. I was just having a conversation with Hicks earlier... it doesn't really matter how big or small the company/financial institution is (or which company they use to process the card transaction), everyone is a target. There are very highly motivated people looking for exploits day and night. Some to use themselves, some to sell to the highest bidder. It's just a matter of time, and a little bit of luck one way or the other.
One thing I highly recommend is to get a card that lets you use temporary numbers that are locked to one merchant. Not only are illicit charges rejected right off the bat, but the card issuer knows exactly where that number was supposed to be used, making investigations quicker and more targeted. It's by no means comprehensive protection, but it's a nice extra layer of peace of mind. |

Which... is why all dishonest people [in this regard] need to receive a good smiting.

Sooo, thoughts on recent reveals?
Stalker: awesome. So excited to see a new Stalker head with removable beret and WITHOUT those damnable dreadlocks (I have nothing against locks, but I do not see them as something that character would wear) that is SURELY going to crop up again. A tundra ranger Stalker would make a fantastic membership figure for next year. I'd pay $40 for such a figure with that head with or without membership. Metal-Head: I like the look of the head. Disappointed in the desert Duke launchers but not surprised. But the use of that set of webgear is off, looks way too big on the body.

Agree on Metalhead for the most part, though I mind those balloon shoulders more than the launchers. It's a big, unique set of parts and the Space Marine Duke ones are a decent compromise.
Stalker looks okay. I like how they got two homages for the price of one with the design. So, just in general, I've been wondering. All we've heard about in the toy space for the past 6 years or so has been, "Prices keep going up due to the rising cost of oil. Duh, Economics 101." And that kept getting repeated even when the cost of oil was mostly stable for, oh, 4 years or so. How long is it going to take before we see a price reduction now that a large factor in materials and transportation is almost half the price that it used to be? Also, it feels like I might have mentioned this already. Too lazy to check pack a few pages. |

Mayhem looks pretty good. I like the possibilities the new vest invites. Next year's con set: Joe Brass Through the Years vs The Jugglers. Saving on paint apps FTW!
So as I sit here dragging my ass while I should be getting ready for next weekend, whose faces can I expect to see at the lovely Cherry Hill Holiday Inn on the 22nd? |
