(Why, thank you Captain)
Wow, Sharks 0 - Red Wings 6, not exactly how I expected that game to go this year... but I'll take it!!! It doesn't mean anything, just a regular season game so they'll be no gloating, ha ha-ing, na na-ing or anything like that from me... I'm way too mature for that... All I have to do is look at the standings to know who is king thus far this season. Sharks had an off night and the Wings were finally [on fieya] in primetime this season. okay... just one... Woot! (okay I'm done). go wings. |

Can't believe Sundin went to Vancouver instead of the Rangers... I know a lot of fans that were happy, and didn't want him, but I think he's a great player and still has a good year or two left in him.

congrats to the Wings, that was a major win. Babcock was smart to find kink in Sharks' armor and capitalize on fatigue very early on. I missed the 1st period but when I came in 2nd and saw how slow Boyle was moving, I knew it was over. Wings are smart enough to pull out Ws over the major contenders in the west (Sharks and ducks) so I give them mad props for pulling out crucial victories. All said and done this means a lot for Detroit and may turn them around, you guys should be very proud! It was cool to see the fans at the Joe give the Wings a standing ovation at the end. As for playoffs go, if these 2 meet in the final round the only winner will be Boston....I mean the East......
As for gloating......7pts Quote:
All said for Detroit and San Jose, I think the power has shifted now. I actually shot Rock Star out of my nose! Thanks for making my day.

As "end all be all team", its more of a sense that with steals from Tampa and Detroit, the Sharks will finally follow through on their talent and may, just may actual do something in the post season. |

I really think the West winner will win the cup again, unless they play Pittsburgh, who I see as the only full series contender in the East. They still have plenty of weapons and even stronger motivation to win this time. In a series with PIT, I call it 50/50 or even a slight advantage to PIT (if they stay completely healthy). I'd be shocked if Pittsburgh didn't come out of the East again, even with their being overshadowed by hot (regular season) teams. Just my opinion. I don't see any of these hot teams outlasting PIT in a series. **blushes** thank you (i was trying to restrain myself... on fieya...) Quote:
Was it Axl Rose? No wait, he resides in other body orifices... |

thats the one thing that urked me. Mclellan took a page from Ron Wilson and never pulled Nabby for Bushier. hopefully Mclellan learns from that mistake Quote:
I wasn't surprised at Sundin's choice either. He'll be a star there just like he was in Toronto. Does it give Vancouver a real chance at doing something significant this season? I'm not convinced. They have a top forward (slightly past his prime) and a great goalie, but I don't think they have all the pieces to compete with the elite teams in a series.

Anyone who is a huge Wings fan, or hockey fan for that matter, knows that all the regular season is good for is positioning yourself for the playoffs. The Wings have had the best record and been the favorite going into the playoffs many times and been beaten. I think it was a big game for the Wings simply for the way they have been playing defensively. A shutout, especially against a quality team, means a lot. Hopefully, for me, they can build on this game and not have to try to score 5-7 goals a game to win.
