I want to clarify I was never a hoarder or had that big of a collection. All my figures could fit into a walmart sack and a decent sized ziplock.I just burned out and threw it away...anyone I told that story to had actually said I was stupid for doing so and said I needed to continue my work,I never felt that way.Only lately have I had that urge to paint plastic again after watching way too many warhammer videos on youtube.I have a 3 tiered shelf I will fill and likely be done.Hearing some of these stories though...damn..let me at least buy some cheap fodder parts off ya share the wealth haha

I am in a similar situation.
I never threw out or trashed my toys in a fit of rage, but I had to sell most everything off--vintage, Joe Vs. Cobra, Spy Troops, ROC, etc.--to make ends meet. Didn't want to, but I had to. I managed to hold on to the few POC stuff I had accumulated, save for vehicles. As of recently, I'm back on my feet and am restarting my collection with modern era stuff. Started with the movie stuff--ROC, Retaliation, and am now picking up any POC/30th Anniversary/and Renegades stuff that I missed out on. My collection, even when complete by my standards, could probably fit in just a couple of Wal-Mart bags, with a two shelf system for vehicles. I'm just going to keep it simple for the most part. |

Sorry to hear that bro. I had no idea. way to get back on the horse.
I definitely have an urge to go Shaolin monk once in a while and sell the good stuff and give what's not worth selling to my nephews. I could never throw the stuff away though (no judgements of course) but at the very least maybe St. Judes would take it? There's always a kid out there who'd love to have it I'm sure. But lately I've been feeling like a hoarder myself. For me it's because I don't have much display space, but a good amount of storage space. My basement and attic look like the government storage facially where they put the Ark of the Covenant. |

site this the next time you feel that way. Throwing it away only wastes the money you have already invested.

I hear you man. For me, display space is key. If I have no space to display anything, then I feel like it is just stuff and I actually start to resent it. I would rather have enough room to have 30 figures and be able to display them, than infinite room, but with no room to display.

I often have these thoughts and wish my crap was just gone. It can certainly be overwhelming from time to time. I could never toss it though, but each his own.

I get embarrassed at how much crap I've accumulated, a relative said to me once, " I'd of bought a boat or big truck with all this money" whatever ! It all goes down in value or gets old, I've tossed aruond sellin my 1/6 stuff, but seems nobody wants it anymore, I could NEVER throw it away, that's CRAZY ! I've slowed waaay down on new purchases, mostly online and exclusive stuff now, costs more but you buy less fodder that way and it means more to me. But I have thought about having a big "buy it all sale" now and then, but I know I'd miss it an have to start over, that's even Crazyer LOL !!

I admit to selling off my collections, at one time I had a massive GI Joe collection as well as g1 transformers, he-man, cops. If it was from the 80's I had it, I must of over the course of my life spent tens of thousands on collections.
Now all I own is a modest iron man collection and GI joe kre-o sets.
