I purchased that Chap Mei truck of the Jungle adventure series on a flea market. The design is ridiculous and the quality extremely poor. However, it is very difficult to get or to make a cabin of a truck at scale 1:18. Thus I decided to use the cabin and the wheels. The front bumper had to go along because it is an essential part for stability of the cabin on top of a new chassis made of wood. I customized the adventure series truck in a way to get a Brazilian civil truck. The first three pictures show the original truck purchased. The further pictures show the whole project in progress and the new truck as a result. The box on top of the cabin is removable. The overall length of the truck is 41 cm.

Great details! Now you need mini vegetable leaves to throw in the back.

Man, that blue and red is spot on for an old truck. I imagine that is what the old farm trucks I drove in high school looked like when they were new.
If I were to be so bold to offer advice, you might be able to detail the cab exterior a litte more. I am not sure, but I image the door handles might be a different color in real life, either chrome or white. So cool, I can imagine some bandits in the back waving AK-47s |

That looks spot on. Well done. Did you reuse the interior?

That reminds me of the Pacific Tech truck from War of the Worlds (the good 1953 version). It's one of my all time favorite movies to this day!

Thanks for the advice. I have just painted the door handles which I had simply forgotten. The colors of the payload area by the way a typically Brazilian. I had thought not to paint the cabin and leave it with the original tiger paint. However, I decided to paint it with a typical color used in the 50s, 60s and early 70s because in that way I would be able to use the truck in a civilian diorama as well as e.g. in a diorama depicting civil war.

No, I did not. As you can see in the third picture, the interior of the original model simply makes part of the chassis. The sixth picture shows the seats of a model car I glued on a piece cut out of a CD box. I also added the steering wheel because the original truck has none.
