Here is a link to his store: https://www.etsy.com/shop/Valerobots (Disregard; Valero now deals through forums, Flickr and Facebook) But don't buy the robot teddy bear thing, you bastards. I want that one. And here's an interview Infinite Hollywood conducted with Valero a while back: Rupert Valero: Custom Toys In Afghanistan | Infinite Hollywood I think the What's On Joe Mind? crew may have interviewed him as well. I occasionally comment on Valero's photos on Flickr or ToyArk, but other than that I don't know him. I am sharing these photos and this endorsement simply because his work is stellar, and I want more people to buy his stuff. But not the robot teddy bear thing, you bastards! He's really branching out. I seem to recall that his bots were pretty basic when he first started out.

The craziness is part of the appeal!

I know what you mean, though. The design sense has remained mostly consistent, but I like how things have become increasingly eccentric. |

Holy crap those are cool. I think army boogy man and "awared droid" would make a cool team.
The really crazy part I like is they are really unique... not like a limited edition thing but truly difficult if not impossible to copy and if you get one you really have to love it for what it is - because there's no "collectability" and no "nostalgia" just pure appreciation of the craft, the colors, the shapes.

It's my own fault; I should have pounced during the five-second window a week or two ago wherein I had money, but I'm stocking up on figures for an upcoming themed week on Flickr. Meanwhile: Last edited by Monte Williams; 07-04-2014 at 09:17 AM.. |
