So the movie's going to gross hundreds of millions of dollars and launch the franchise to heights of exposure and popularity not seen since the 80s then? That's good to know.

we see a couple of terrorist attacks, some g.i. Joe guys dressed like snake eyes jumping out of a plane,
this movie is going to blow......even this guy who saw the trailer thinks so. You movie lovers are going to be soooo pissed off. This movie isnt going to help joe its going to bury it........sad really. For all the movie defenders.......this bowl of crap is why you stick to the source and not change things. When you try and modernize stuff you sometimes make it worst. Looks resolute is going to be the only saving grace. And before someone says well you havent seen both.....well everything seen about the movie has been a stinker....every little screen shot about resolute has rocked.....well except pilot destro and samuri ss........ right on brotha!! |

Hi. My name is Jason. I am the owner and editor of Nuke The Fridge, and I am the one who wrote the details about the trailer.
I have been reading your replies here today and all I can say is I feel your pain. I am a fan of G.I. Joe from way back in the day. Unfortunately the trailer really is as bad as I wrote. I would say I have hopes that they could fix some of the things I saw and come out with a decent trailer, but then I remember that the director is Stephen Sommers the man who brought his "Van Helsing." So I don't really have a lot of faith. But then again, you never know. I have seen some horrible trailers before and then was surprised by how good the movie was. |

To everyone saying "They should have gotten someone with some knowledge of GI JOE" or "They needed a GI JOE fan to have written the script" I beg to differ. Look what is happening with GI JOE Resolute. Warren Ellis (who wrote Resolute) had NO experience/knowledge of anything classic Joe: figures, comics, cartoon-NOTHING, and yet the trailer for resolute was quite promising-even the character design and uniforms all seemed as if they could fit into the GI JOEverse in some form or another. Just look at the figures, they resemble the original characters they are based on.
Please, don't take this as me defending the movie, as I too have a hopeless outlook on it. It saddens me to no extent that Hasbro would just had over the licensing and name rights to my all time favorite series of anything, ever to a bunch of Hollywood shitstains who they more then likely knew would change it up radically for the worse. Like said before I will wait until I see the finished product until I can truly denounce it. However as of right now, with all these negative things we are hearing, and the screen shots we have seen, and the behind the scenes photos, and the people who have read the screen play and seen the trailer- The outcome looks quite grim, unfortunately. That would be awesome!!! I would totally enjoy that.

because Larry Hama's comic writing is barely better than laughable, and it certainly doesn't reveal an ability to write a screenplay. the best writing Hama ever did was on the filecards, and again, that doesn't qualify him to write a screenplay. I know from the casual observer all writing must be the same, but I assure you, it isn't.

IDK....I think a handful of Tankers could write a better script then what Ive seen......and the Black Battle Suits that run Really, Really, Really fast........thats something straight out of the Power Rangers.....And Im willing to bet the writing on that kids show is far better than the script for this movie..... The film may not be what we want (even though the action sequences described SCREAM GI Joe), kids will eat it up, and the line will continue! |
