I wish I would have done some before and after pix my self...
I've done my Skystriker, Wolverine, Havoc, Persuader, My Killer Whale, Tomahawk, and my Sharc. I just need to do my HAL, Battle Platform, Mirage and my Headquarters... I wash mine down after disassembly, and then I use plastic polish to clean mine, and then another wash to get excess off...

Yeah, I guess I could do that. I don't have anything right now, I was supposed to get a 1983 Headquarters but the seller shipped me the wrong box and the other buyer hasn't contacted him back, I'm thinking he's going to keep it himself. So I have my eye on another HQ, but getting the decals from Mexico would probably take about three weeks.

Where do you buy plastic polish? Do you know if it is good for Gi Joe pieces? That Headquarters looks beautiful, almost as if it had been polished too. I've never heard of plastic polish. Thanks for the help. |

Plastic polish for automotive use. You shoudl be able to find it at Pep Boys, Star, O'Reilly, or whatever is in your area. Meguire's or Mother's are the two brands to look for. I've been using it for years on GI Joe and Transformers. Use a clean, soft cloth (never terry cloth!) and you'll probably need a soft toothbrush or a toothpick to help clean up any that gets stuck in creases. |

Thank you. I didnt use any type of polish on it, just good old soap and water on this one. Ive polished a bunch of other stuff before with no negative effects.....yet.

You have any tips for cleaning vehicles and keeping the original stickers? I've used goo gone on a Q tip to clean around stickers where they've slid and left glue over the years. Works pretty good.

Your method sounds good, but I've never tried to clean around them. |

She beat me to it. I've used Maguires head light restore. Wait till it dries real good after using it the first time. Some unseen excess wont show up until it dries and turns whitish(DOESNT HARM PLASTIC). Then use a toothbrush or the like to clean it in the second wash. AS ALWAYS TEST FIRST AND BEFORE IF YOU WANT TO KEEP THE ORIGINAL DECALS. GOO BE GONE didn't like my tomahawk plastic at all, so I don't use it anymore.
