I dig it, got basically the shell of the crawler/booster/shuttle. It was in a pawn shop for 25 dollars. I could never afford to complete it, but it was cool to get.

I have a 90 percent one that I have almost completed over about 3 years and for under $300 bucks. Most people with a quick glance would think it was 100 percent, but it needs a bell or whistle here and there, nothing major, but I know. For those of us that do have a Defiant, you know that unless you put one together from an unopened box, it is very hard to get it 100 percent complete. There is just so many little bullshit parts not only on the gantry and bay doors, but the booster, and shuttle are chock full "stuff" needed to make it all complete.
I think what makes a Defiant awesome too, or atleast for me it was, is the fun in trying to complete. I bet everyone here that has one, has their own story of how they acquired all the parts to get it to where it is at its current state. My Defiant base/shell was picked up from Pennsylvania, which is 2 hours away, for 100 bucks. Then after that road trip it was months and months of searching ebay, craigslist, and many toy shows, for the many missing parts and items I needed to slowly bringing it closer and closer to completion. There is nothing like scoring that elusive part you need and the rarer it is the better when its found. Needless to say, although mine is 90 percent, it is one of the prized jewels of my collection. Its perfect as a stand alone "diorama" with a bunch of modern era Joes scrambling about to complete the scene. Its awesome! |

I was lucky to get this Defiant from Craiglist from a guy reducing his collection to make room for kids, I think I paid like 400 bucks and I've been working piece by piece for the last year, I need those two last pieces and the repro stickers...
With this I'll have the big three, mint Flagg, Terror Drome and Defiant....

I still have yet to finish mine. I still have a Crusader in the box. I am thinking of getting another booster and Gantry and adding the Crusader to it, Sorta like Moonraker.
