What did attendees put when filling out their forms? They basically said that's what they go off of! I didn't fill mine out.

Indiana is not the South. Rhode Island is not in the South. Kansas City is not in the South. Also, they've got these cool things called cars and airplanes that allow you to effectively travel from one place to another. You could try starting a thread asking for help and other Tankers could tell you to use them so you don't hosed out of going to the con each year. Good luck!

Sky Patrol or Tiger Force would be a "sell my kidney to make sure I get it" moment. Eco Warriors would be a wait and see.

I vote for Eco Warriors on my convention evaluation form every year. I would also love to see a Cobra La set with some modern 87 movie joes like big lob and "once a man" cobra commander with roadblock or something.

The club never said they were doing anything specifically related to it being 50 years of Joe, but I think it would be somewhat appropriate. Technically it is the 50th anniversary of the brand as a whole, though the 12" figures obviously came first.
I left out several sub groups that have been mentioned due to various reasons. BF2000...Seems like people have either a love or hate for this group with not a lot in between. More importantly, Vehicles were a big part of this group and they would not be available Star Brigade...Again, I don't think many people really liked this era. Another love or hate type sub group. (personally I hated star brigade) and again, vehicles would be an issue DEF...I really liked these figures, but again, I don't feel like they were a popular enough group to get people excited. They used the Headhunters in an o-ring set a few years ago, and I doubt they would repeat them again so soon. Ninja Force...always a possibility, and there are certainly enough characters. However, considering the focus on ninjas in the retail line, I think the club would avoid going the same route anytime soon. Cobra La- would be a great cobra side to a sunbow type set. Just a thought. |

Tiger Force is a safe bet. Cobra-La would be a dream set. I think we've been spoiled the last three years with great con sets.

I think it is going to be Tiger Force also. Eco-Warriors would be cool also,
Cobra LA probably wont happen by the club b/c of the amount of new tooling that would be required to make an accurate set. I dont want a Reactive Armor Scarlett with a Aura Sing head (if that would even be possible) and try to call it Pythona. I would rather she be done right.

If they want a story for the comic, send a POC styled Gung-Ho and FSS Grunt to the desert to recruit some modern looking marines and soliders and have them tell them about the past of Joe so they can give us aspects of the past that Hasbro doesn't cover next year maybe a flocked hair Colton, or a DDP general Colton, or that unreleased bravo team 013 looking figure as one of the updated 013. They can even speak of rumors they don't know about and give us that "diver" that is clearly in a sigma suit or sgt savage, and show the rookies imagining that to be what G.I.Joe is. Of course you need cobras so they can have the group get attacked so the frame around the flashbacks is interesting. 3 Sand vipers based on the JVC figures would be great, POC beachead body and head from the POC firefly painted up to match the Sand Viper v1. they could even show the FSS sand scorpions in the comic.

Just an observation: they could include Cesspool in an Eco-Warriors con set if he's the corporate suited pre-toxified Vincent D'Alleva.
But add me to the list of those that would be for a 1982 themed set. |
