I don't have the quote verbatim so don't hold me to this, but someone asked them on facebook why they don't, they gave an answer to the effect that their servers couldn't handle the traffic if everyone was trying to buy at the exact same second, so if they don't give you a precise time then they will be better able to process the orders and not crash.

Sorry about the club issue, that sucks that they do this, if you want to sell any mission brazil stuff PM me

I already gave them a phone call to put in my official complaint. I'm done with Joecon, I'm done with the club. This was the last time. I rearrange my schedules this week and last week to be ready for the minutes or so I would have to get my registration ready and there's a one hour notice that goes up on facebook. No pre-warning on e-mail, didn't even get the e-mail til after registration had already sold out the golden package. You jerk around people for two weeks with registration coming soon, it's gonna be tomorrow, oops no it's not, next week sometime. So when it's finally up, you can't give a 24 hour notice? It was even requested by multiple people that you do so.
I love going to con and hanging out with my friends, and I generally love the con product, but I can't support this organization anymore. We bitch and we bitch about this stuff, and if we never actually do anything about it, what does that say to them? They'll keep throwing their money at us no matter what happens. This isn't a spur of the moment thing, it's been building up for a while now. I've been going to con for 10 years now, and Ive had it with every year something being a problem, and a major one at that. Just yesterday I was thinking why I put myself through the hassle each year. and today nailed it. I'm done with the hassle, and I'm done with the unprofessional way they put together almost everything they do. I'll show up to Indy to drop off the JoeDeclassified equipment for their booth, but that'll be it. There are other joecons out there that are a hell of a lot more fun and more relaxed that I can go to that I don't need to worry about this crap anymore. So I'm selling every club product I own which is essentially everything they've ever made. It'll most likely pay my travel costs to go to the next 5 or 6 Canada Con, Coil Con and Iowa Joe Meets. Hell I might as well use the cash to go the next Roll Out Roll Call too. The point of this isn't to be like woe is me I can't get a golden ticket. It's my solid complaint to the GIJoe Club letting them know they lost a faithful customer of the last decade who bought nearly everything they put out. I've most likely spent $10,000 on their cons and their product. The only thing I would like to see happen from this is they get their heads out of their asses and change the way they run shows for the better for the rest of the community because they're losing business. I'm not saying I'm the community, I'm just one guy who's done with the nonsense and would like them to stop messing around with the people who still go. |

Oops, sorry, had two tabs open.
Sucks to hear Roshan, but unsurprising - their IT situation in particular sucks big time.

I'm pretty new to the club & con, but it doesn't take long to realize they are running a very amateur operation in a lot of ways. There are so many aspects of their operations management that are subpar, they simply couldn't compete in anything resembing an open market...
As is, there really isn't much market force to force them to upgrade & improve their systems, that is, unless member's start dropping. Like you. So, I totally agree with YoJoeNCSU; I won't be taking the same action, but I totally understand why, and even applaud you for standing by your principles.

I'm sorry if I come across as being critical, but why get upset about the golden ticket selling out? My understanding is that there were only 100 or so available anyway, so someone was bound to not get one. And as far as I know, the con sets have not yet sold out, so you can still get the figures. Why are you so upset to not be able to buy 3 of everything?

I'm also tired of waiting around for a couple weeks a year waiting for registration to go up and all the crying wolf they do and then ending up dumping it up with little notice. |

This won't make you feel any better but this is nothing new to many people. The "club" has always done a terrible job of what it is supposed to be about and that is promoting G.I.JOE. Overpriced items and lack of availability to the "common fan" do not promote the line at all. The "club" is simply a business trying to capitalize on a fan base as much as they can. They do a great job of alienating a large fan base while catering to a small one.

My advice for next time, if there is one for you:
Copernic Tracker - Keeps You Up to Date with What's New on the Web Tracker is a great tool for monitor of web changes. Free to use for 30 days. The nice thing about it is you can specify what changes to watch for, how often to check and it will email you once it detects changes. Link it to a push mail services (gmail.com or outlook.com) and it will let you know as soon as anything changes. Had it linked to the main page, updating every 5 minutes. I got notice within minutes of it going live and was able to register. Much less frustrating than having to sit and F5 and if you can't sit and monitor nonstop due to RL, it will let you know something has changed where ever you are. |
