so I gave Superman Returns another shot.Jesus its a snooze......and Supes is a creepy stalker. at the time I really thought after Singers X2 that this would be something special-especially in the action stakes. I was so very wrong indeed. |

Superhero movies that have hardly any action and plenty of thoughtful conversations & overthinking seem to be darlings of the critical establishment. and I dont blame Routh either.....he had all the points required to be Supes and would have been great Im sure given the chance.why they went for mad criminal Luthor again instead of the model that really worked......IE "Businessman who nobody knows is criminal" |

"Superman Returns" was all Singer's fault. Bad story, bad cast, bad direction. Even a bad decision to weave it into the Donner films. And Lex Luthor's whole evil plan was for freakin' real estate? Unusable real estate at that?! Singer's one and only good movie was "The Usual Suspects". It's complete bullshit that they ignore X-men 3 and Wolverine in his storyline for First Class and the upcoming sequel.
On that note, the last film that I watched was "X-Men Origins: Wolverine". I can understand a lot of the fans being upset with it, but I think it hit all the notes. It gave us a usable origin story for Wolverine and Deadpool, so we never have to go over that again. The cinematography on this film was top notch. It's Donald McAlpine's work, so that adds a lot to the movie. He also was dp for "Predator", "Patriot Games" and "The Edge". Anyway, I like the movie. It's better than a lot of other recent superhero films. And that credits montage of Wolverine and Sabretooth in all the wars is just about the coolest two minutes you'll find in a superhero movie. |

However according to Donner & Singer they are back in now.the Wolverine takes place directly after the events of X3 and will possibly lead into Days Of Future Past. |

See, that's just crazy. I could understand it if the movies featured different actors or had storylines that directly contradicted previous movies, but they didn't. Who knew that Fox would be worse with continuity than Marvel.

Rising Sun - I always enjoy watching Wesley and Sean in this. I also really dig the subtle sexiness of Tia Carrere in this as well.
