dunno if this on list but seriously loose parts or figures send in a bubbler mailer. A standard envelope may be ok for real small stuff that is not bulky but not for several good sized parts envelope can bust open and tear.

Hi,
I had a concern in mailing packages. For instance, I send out a small accessory piece smaller than a dime and put it in a bubble mailer. The buyer paid and I charged him a cheap price. 3 buck shipped in total. I go to the post office and the woman behind the counter puts it on the weigh scale. Charges me a flat rate of $4 and change. I didn't make any profit, just short because of stupidity of the teller behind the glass. Make sure you don't get screwed next time and ask for the supervisor and make sure the lady understands perfect English. ;/ |

When selling on ebay, how do people come up with exact shipping prices?
also, how do I offer free shipping?

Here's tip it took me a while to find:
Even though you can't print first class postage on usps.com, you can through paypal here: https://www.paypal.com/us/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_ship-now It is 31 cents less than regular first class and includes a tracking number. I don't even know how to find it through paypal's menus, I just have the link bookmarked.

Is Registered Mail the BEST way to ship internationally so it can be tracked to appease eBay's Claims dept? I've had a rash of Brazil and France buyers and I can't take the chance they claim it never arrived. It's happened before and was quite COSTLY!! HELP!!

You should send it International Priority. Comes with a tracking number (required by Paypal) and insurance. Make the buyer pay for it. |

Question its been awhile since I sold on ebay and last I checked I had my settings set to prevent international buyers I had a listing that says ships to U.S. and noticed someone from China with a leading bid. What happens if they win? I had priority mail shipping domestic only. Am I forced to sell it to them, am I able to change the shipping price etc.?

If you don't want to sell to anyone outside of the US, I suggest taking your future auctions and putting restrictions on bidder/buyer locations. |

eBay has an option now to mail items to their overseas shipping sites. if I recall, it's all US and they send it on to China (or wherever it needs to go).
