The Cobra EEL does have either a 1 or 2 casted right above the handle. I got 3 cases one with #1 & a #2.

Yes, above the gun handle there's a 1 or 2 printed. I got 3 cases & got 2 #1 and a #2, so they are random.

Since when is it wrong to give the customer what he/she wants? If you don't want it, then don't buy it. Obviously, some people want them. I swear some collectors are exactly like the sterotype: whiny half-balding basement dwelling dweebs who whine like little girls about toys. Grow up, buy what you want, and pass over the rest.

Here's the deal with AFA... AFA provides a quantifiable difference between action figure conditions. This is solely for the people who want to be able to state exactly how "good" the condition of their collection is. I personally feel that having a MOC figure with no visible defects is good enough for me. I do see a few issues with the matter though.
1. What are the standards for these grades? I know AFA has a site where they state them... But where did those come from? What would actually constitute a perfect 10 grade? Would such a thing even be possible? It seems to me that these grades are based very much on industry standards so outside of this context the grades have no real meaning. 2. To me, AFA, especially buying straight from the manufacturer, defeats most of the fun of collecting and draws a clear distinction between people who are collecting because they really enjoy it and people who are collecting because they enjoy having valuable things (money). From a business standpoint, AFA grading is obviously the way to go, it offers a return of more than what it costs. No matter how you slice it, it inflates the value of the exact same product. 3. I will never understand why a figure that is obviously a very high grade will bring in significantly less money than the exact same figure that is graded. To me this just speaks to people not knowing enough about what they're buying. You could make the case that they want AFA and are just too lazy or like the convenience of this but... Be reasonable. The only difference between the two afore mentioned figures is the plastic case that comes around them. 4. I've heard the argument that AFA grading is a sign against counterfeit figures but... If you were able to counterfeit a flawless snake eyes '82 what are the chances you can't create a convincing AFA counterfeit as well. I also have an amusing story about a local comic store owner who has his comics graded sometimes by the equivalent association for comics. They sent him a comic in a case with a high rating 90 or so, and the case was not sealed correctly. Without tampering with it he was able to remove the comic and replace it with another copy that was torn to shreds so much so that it was barely recognizable. Just an amusing anecdote. |

Why does it matter what someone posts? If somone hates it it likes dislikes disagrees with it approves of it, who as the right to sit aorund and make accusations for or against the post? Do you feel they will stop and always agree with you? Why does someone have to automatically fit into a "sterotype" fo posting their opinion? You do not know the posters, you can not tell the emotional state of a poster, you have no facts to go off on in either case, just some words on a balck backround with an image attached to it. I can post just about anything I want in any fashion I want and 80,000 people will read it differenlty because they interpret it 1,000,000 ways.
And so can Hasbro (sell whate ever and whenever they want) whether I like it, hate, agree with it, wish for somehting else or wish it all away. Should not matter how I post about it nor should it agner you in anyway what I believe. Think if this was a communicst country, this message board would be regulated and or not exist, you could not freely say anything we have said here, there would be no joes as goods would be controlled buy the government, our views and opinions would be controlled and we could face punishment/impresionment for having robust opinions or ideas. Ahhh good old America, thank you for the freedom I have and thank you to any service memebers on here and your familys for the rights we do have to speak our minds that have been so honerabley fought for... |

I don't care about them selling AFA figures. I wouldn't buy one but that's me, I don't care if other folks do.
I'm just annoyed that the AFA's are in stock and shipping now while the non-AFA's won't ship for a few weeks still. |
