Anyone looking to complete their Avengers collection, Cranston Walmart has a cardboard display with the Nick Fury/Chitari/Iron Man wave. There were multiples of each. A couple Hawkeyes mixed in too. No Black Widows.
I grabbed a Nick Fury. Nice figure, using the CA:FA Winter Solider body and legs. Good Sam Jackson head. The only downside is no wrist articulation. It makes aiming his rifle with two hand impossible. Quote:
I haven't bought any NECA Alien/Predator toys (or any NECA item yet for that matter) but I sure wish I'd start sometime soon. Are the NECA figures durable or are they susceptible to breaking out of the package (McFarlane) when you try to free up stuck joints(ala some super-poseable Toybiz)?

Found this for you netkid. A review on Fury, IM and Chitari from that case. It should answer your questions. http://www.onepercase.net/2012/07/av...nick-fury.html Last edited by BEAM; 09-14-2012 at 10:15 PM.. |

The "Super Articulated" Iron Man Mark VII is far from actually being super articulated. Yes, it is an improvement over the first Mark VII release, but only barely. From the waist up, the figure is exactly the same mold as before. It only has new legs. The first release had ball hinged knees and no ankle articulation. This new version features double jointed knees and ball hinged ankles with rockers. The added articulation is a step in the right direction, but this figure still lacks wrists, waist or torso articulation.
Must suck for anyone who bought these online hoping they were as good as the Iron Man 2 figures. Quote:
The paint is basically the same as before, but the arc reactor is solid blue instead of solid white now, and the repulsors on the hands lack any paint detail. So this is still a pretty lazy paint job. Overall, the improvement in articulation is just enough to make you kick yourself for buying the first version. This figure pisses me off.

The Chitauri is the most perplexing figure yet in this line, because of his unusual and pointless articulation scheme. The figure has ball hinged hips and ankles (which is cool since most of this line lacks ankles), but doesn't have any sort of knee articulation... which renders the ankle articulation almost completely useless. The figure also doesn't have any elbow articulation. Or wrists. So he's got straight arms and legs, and almost no poseability.
Other than the fact that the Hasbro designers were obviously on drugs the day this figure was designed, the sculpting detail isn't bad. There's some good detail in the armor. We're getting a deluxe Chitauri with chariot around the same time as the single carded figure, so I'm hopeful that that one will have elbows and knees. Or maybe this is the deluxe one, and that's why it lacks elbows and knees? Guess I'll know for sure when they start hitting retail.

The new Predators are out? All I saw was the Predator 2 City Hunter/cloaked Predators Super Black 2-pack at Warwick TRU.

I know it was updated/different because I remember seeing the original masked Super Black back when it first came out and it looked awful, like his different colored skin tones were all polka-dotted. So I guess my question is: Did NECA correct the painted skin details on the masked Super Black somewhere along the line after they released his unmasked version? Perhaps in some kind of revision wave?

Which Predator are you talking about?
I have all of them minus the SDCC from this year and last year.

1st release masked (skin specks circular, farther apart): http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_tBxuDqadUu...r+packaged.JPG later Unmasked release (skin specks more of an oval shape, closer together, more in number (now on the forearms and hands). note the different skin (gray) color/pattern): http://www.toyark.com/news/attach/1/...1286454015.jpg Now here they are loose side by side: http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_tBxuDqadUu...25281%2529.JPG Notice the masked one's skin is tan while the unmasked one is gray. The two I compared side by side at Toyvault were both gray. Almost as if they just kept making the correctly colored body from the unmasked figure but placed the masked head on.

Nice, I was wondering when those would be showing up. I actually checked at TRU for them today but didn't find them. Haha that shelf of mine can't hold any more.
