Well, that did come out sounding rather selfish and jerkish.. sorry. I should have added, I didn't want to overspend in general since I am actually trying to save some money in between buying Marvel Universe and Hot Toys, lol.

Everytime I look at my Captain America figures like Red Skull and Rescue Captain America (by Hot Toys just go with me here), I keep thinking how big of an oversight Hasbro made with their Captain America TFA line. I mean, Rescue Cap is a great figure, and would have made an awesome mold for the Joe line, same with Red Skull if he hadn't been done so poorly. Bucky and Dum Dum, man, they had great looks as Howling Commandos. I hope there are indeed a few WWII flashbacks in Cap 2 and Hasbro finally gives us a Bucky figure at least. Eventually I'm going to try to bash a 3 3/4" Rescue Cap together. I know I talked about it a little before, but now that I have the HT figure I have the perfect reference material.

We've talked about the fact that First Avenger had a treasure trove of untapped toy potential before. Not just the fact that there were so many unique characters and costumes, but the various vehicles would also have made outstanding toys. If only Hasbro had treated it like a Star Wars movie instead of a throw away movie toy line.

I just love the movie and characters a lot, and watched it again recently since it was just put on Netflix. Plus getting these new Hot Toys figures this month, I'm just on a Cap TFA kick. It's funny that Hasbro didn't go full monte with the Cap line, it just seemed like there kind of line to hit out of the park. Instead they were really reserved with it. I'm The Avengers is really going to lift IM3, Thor 2, and Cap 2 up to higher success and Hasbro will treat the toy lines better this time around b/c of the success of the Avengers toy line. I'm just hoping Cap 2 gives us enough flashbacks (that do justice to the story) to get us a few TFA figures that got overlooked.

Could you imagine how cool it would have been if they did act like First Avenger was a Star Wars film? We'd get movie accurate characters instead of endless repaints. A Hydra Tank, Motorcycle, mini-sub, that huge wing aircraft, and those little planes that dropped out of it. It would have been sweet.

I didn't mean to say that it's been over discussed. I was just trying to give fair warning to not get annoyed with me for repeating myself on this topic.

A Hydra Tank, Motorcycle, mini-sub, that huge wing aircraft, and those little planes that dropped out of it. It would have been sweet. Heck yeah! TFA had the best set up for a toy line. I think a lot of the vehicles would have easily fed right in the Joe line as repaints as well, or just appealed to us Joe collectors. Not to mention how cool it would have been to get the Howling Commandos, Colonel Phillips, Peggy Carter, and a Project Rebirth display. I'm sure if the movie had been bigger (it was pretty big to begin with really!), or this was 10-15 years ago we might have gotten a lot more.
