Jeeze dude, I had no idea you had so many tune-ups. Your half cyborg man! And I mean that as a compliment bro, I admire your attitude about it all.
As to sharing ideas, only when people ask. I'll be the first to jump in on those "What vest and weapons should I give X character" conversations. I just wont be the topic starter cause then it sounds like I think everyone should hear my opinion because it will somehow enlighten them. I get alot of great ideas from other folks on here. If anything I mimic more than I inspire. |

I was reading an IDW Comic, I saw a S.W.A.T. team recently, I've been thinking maybe that's why everyone wants the Shock Trooper vests to create a police crew. I don't really know why everyone wants them, but I'm just guessing.. If not I was thinking of using shock troopers to form a unit. with police on the sheild instead of cobra.. I've never customized any figures before other than swapping a few parts, I just watched a video on youtube, and someoine demonstrated how to take apart a joe, so I had to do it with my extra 25th pilot scarlett and regular scarlett figures, It all went well.. But as far as painting them, I've never tried it out.. I'm not exactly a fan of customizing figures, simply because after you customize them, Hasbro eventually makes them. Plus I build my army and don't want to use them, maybe thinking I might screw up.. And I paid about 11 or 12 bucks just to get them. Most of my ideas are on dioramas even though I've never done one of thoes either..lol. I don't exactly have the room for the size of them. I did however think about making the dreadnoks old hideout from the IDW comic series. And still have my two pics of what they drew. And have been to Hobby town once last week. They have what I need to make one, but until my girl and i move into a bigger place, I just have to save it all in my memory for now... The last thing that I saw was a white cobra hiss tank. That would be awesome in an arctic diorama. I have a few extra crimson hiss tanks for sale, but i may customize them white and use snow serpents or ice vipers with them..

I have a friend that can hook me up with at least 1 (possibly more) SDCC Shockwaves without the BATs. He bought multiples just so he could army build the BATs. He will sell them to me for a price better than eBay, but still inflated. If you are looking for "retail" price, this isn't it. Still, I can possibly get a set and break it up further between some Tampa locals if you want to go that route or it would be about $120 for the whole thing, again NO BAT. $120 is the cost to get it to me. If I have to re-ship it, it would go up obviously. If you have any interest, send me PM and I will see if I can work something out.

He does have a nice head sculpt, a silver rifle and decent removable brown vest though. |

Night Fox is the driver that comes with the Ninja Combat Cruiser, the head sculpt is great and the vest is removable. its just the limited articulation that sucks.
I got my shock troopers just cause I digged the look. they looked like Umbrella security from Resident Evil. I hear ya on the painting thing. Alot of my earlier custom figures had paint rub off issues. I must of made like 5 custom Cover Girls and after a few weeks I'd be possing her and paint would rub off the elbows and knee joint. And this is the best hobby paint that money can buy here! I have now settled on a formula where I use the absolute minimum amount of paint to customize figures. I keep them as playable as possible. I rather sacrifice on authentic likeness then on playability. I also try to make custom figures that I know they will never make again. I have custom Windmill, Updraft, Blizzard, Bullet Proof, Hot Seat, Backblast, ect. I basically stay away from the main characters cause I honestly dig Hasbrow's work. lol... You said Resident evil.. That's my all-time great when It comes to games.. I remember back when I went to my friends house and I was going through his games, he had re 1 with the original ps case that looks like a dvd case, I started playing it, cause the case looked intresting and the book that came with it had all the characters in it with bios, he told me the game sucks when I was poping it in.. I started playing it and fell in love.. I told him I would give him 10 bucks for it, and he sold it to me... Ever since then it's stuck with me, except for the first movie, re survivors and outbreak.. I only play the games that have jill, wesker, barry, rebecca, chris ect... Anyways onto the subject about the paint.. I never knew it was like that, I might want to save my money and not even tempt to go through all the trouble.. I'm glad you just told me all that. I woulda been kickin my own ass... I do have one question though, Is their any way to tighten leg sockets on joes. I tried to tighten the screws but that didnt work, I bought a 2 pack for wild weasel, and his legs are a bit loose.... I also don't really want to pay to get another one, but I'm thinking It might come down to that.. Last edited by Lab Rat; 07-21-2012 at 12:15 AM.. |
