I recently lost my wallet and went into a panic attack. My cards and cash were in there. I carry my wallet in a fanny pack that is slung over a shoulder. It must have slipped out when I slung it over. When I left Walmart I noticed it was gone! Went to the customer service. Nothing. Went to McDonalds. Nothing. Shit! I was freaked out!
Then I received a call from the police. A couple had found the wallet in the Walmart parking lot and took it to the nearby station. My cards and cash were there. Relief! If it had been a young person I don't think I would be so lucky. In a matter of 20 minutes of panic, I had my wallet back in my hands. That was a miracle! I want to thank this couple for renewing my faith in the honesty of strangers. We live in a cold and harsh world, I like to see the better side of humanity. |

I don't think that you lucked out because the couple wasn't young. (Or might have been, do you know?) I did the same one night when I got locked out of my apartment and found a wallet. This was in college. I returned it to the police station and the desk officer let me use his cell phone to call my roomate to come down and let me in the building. You just lucked out that quality people found it, not because they weren't younger than you.
Congratulations on getting your wallet back. Perhaps it's time to rethink the fanny pack. |

Cool story bro. I don't believe we live in a cold and harsh world though. I think that people are just naturally curious about what they are unfamiliar with and what they are unfamiliar with is the coldness and harshness you speak of. As a result of that natural curiosity, the media we gravitate to contains cold harshness. That constant bombardment by the media we gravitate to after a while shapes our world view. That's what I think anyway.

A great story of faith renewal.
Sidenote: In Australia a "fanny" is a girl's parts. So you can imagine how hilarious my kids find it when I call it a "fanny pack". I routinely walk one of them back to the checkout when they're holding a toy or candy bar and forget to tell me. The clerks typically act all surprised and say, "Y'know, most people wouldn't march a trolley full of 4 kids back to the shop to pay for a dollar candy bar." I just tell 'em that I'm raising 4 that will. Sounds like you got to cross paths with folks that simply want to leave the world a better place. Here's to it happening even more!
