I pose this question to the women:
Given only one (1) average sized backpack to carry, what would you pack? Parameters: -The backpack is like the kind most often used in a high school setting. -You cannot pack a change of clothes. -You cannot pack any electronic device whatsoever. -You can strap more items to the outside of the backpack. -You have to assume you will not encounter any civilized areas or supply caches for at least 1 full year. -Mementos like family photos are optional, but remember they will take up valuable space in your bag. I can't do anything to prevent serious input from male users, however, I ask all guys to keep quiet for the sake of not influencing the ladies' answers. The only thing a woman need to pack is her man. He will take care of everything else. |

Rubbers and lube.
Seriously, though, I'm a dude, and we're wired 100% differently than a chick, so I can't answer for them. Me, I have most of my personal pictures, drawings, writings, and short films - pretty much anything that I've created - saved on small portable hard drives, and those would be the first thing I'd grab in that situation. Then canned food, I guess. Still, your rules are odd...why lay any rules down at all, actually? Who no change of clothes? Clean socks and warm clothes can be a lifesaver in certain situations. And why no electronic devices? Perhaps you'd need a GPS to find a military base or shelter or something. And why is this aimed at women, specifically? This whole thing is just fucking odd.

It's aimed at women because I've never seen remotely serious discussion about this from women; also because women have different biological needs than men. However, despite the rush situation, a woman user on Hisstank can still put a lot of thought into it because she's not really in a rush - so to help maintain an element of the rush, I put strict parameters into place (ie, small backpack, no electronics, no changes of clothes). Also, electronics can lose energy or short out. I wouldn't pack any electronics, and I'm a guy. I can think of alternatives to electronic equipment, but I don't want to post them because then the ladies would get ideas. I want the answers to come from the ladies' minds alone. I don't see what's odd about any of this. Last edited by red4; 06-17-2012 at 03:19 PM.. |

I didn't read the rules very good but here goes how about a gun to keep all of us men away. Sad but true in an end of the world scenario law enforcement goes out the window. I feel bad for the ladies then.
