Ok, Krisk. I picked up a 1982-83 Gi Joe Marvel Mighty Storebook today.
What do you know about them? I have never even seen one. |

I haven't found much information on these things, but in 1983-1983 "Marvel Books" produced some kiddie lit GI Joe stories. Your basic storybook, with full illustrations on each page. Usually one or two Marvel personnel worked on them; but not Hama to the best of my knowledge.
They're similar to the original Marvel comics in tone and even use of characters. Example: Breaker blows bubble gum and Hawk's the main man. I found two of them in my comic vaults- "Operation: Disappearance" and "The Spy Eye". I have a review of "Disappearance", along with more details, HERE: GI Joe Comic Book Index! Operation: Disappearance! A Mighty Marvel Storybook That's about the extent of my knowledge on these. Any additional info on them, or how many were produced, would be welcome. |
