Sent a friend request, like I mentioned earlier my GT is DoGoD.
You'd think with their online stuff being free that they'd be begging for more events, exclusive events just to try and get more players. But then again, they just posted a 5.7 billion dollar loss for the year. It sucks they(PS3 players) basically get screwed all-around with the ME series IMO, no Conrad or Kirrahe. I've got the Genesis comic on the 360, just because I don't really feel like going through ME1 again and you get shafted. Other than the key decisions, it's like they couldn't be bothered to randomly bring back sidequest characters. It's not a ton of content but, you end up missing some of the atmosphere and it's only worse come ME3. Choose Language | BioWare Social Network Basically, using this, you can start up a new career in ME2, mod it up with values for what you "did" in ME1 (Not including Pinnacle Station and BdtS), Import that ME2 career, and it will treat it like all that stuff actually happened. In theory, haven't tried a "Clean Slate" run myself yet to test the theory, but I'm sure someone in that topic has. Quote:
From what I've heard, it was featured heavily in the leaked script. The gist of it, was the Mass Relays and element zero drive cores would cause dark energy to be created and the Reapers would come every 50,000 years to harvest the most advanced species so that it would enable them have more minds working on "the dark energy problem". It would've been revealed that humans could absorb massive amounts or energy, which is why the Reapers are so interested in us. The final choice would've been to either destroy the Reapers and hope the galaxy could find an answer to the problem before it was too late OR choose to let humanity be harvested and hope the Reaperform could solve the dark energy problem.
Sadly, that's not much of an exaggeration. Check out this LINK, or goggle "Mass Effect 3 leaked script".

Just imagine the rage, especially among the renegade players when they found out that their ending would have them allowing humanity to be turned into a Reaper. I guess that would've fed into the Indoctrinated stuff they couldn't get working. Ironically, they were worried about taking control away from players.
From my POV, it seems like the ending was "born to suck". It seems like anything short of all out victory over the Reapers was doomed to be rejected by the community - just look at the reactions over on BSN. And seeing as this is no longer a trilogy but a franchise - how do they make #4 when then endings diverge like that? Would the entire ME universe exist inside the mind of a Reaper? IMO the moment the writers decided to give the Reapers an actual motive, they were doomed. Just let em reap and leave the reasons a mystery, would've saved themselves some trouble.

I agree, making the motivs of the enemy unknown, makes for a better game, but the ending talked about in the article makes more sense than the heaping steaming pile that made the cut. They should have been able to work dark energy into the game.

Precisely. The Reapers are modern day Eldritch Abominations- they don't need a reason to do what they do, to exist. To quote Sovereign, who to this day still makes me wet myself whenever his synthesized voice kicks up on Virmire, "[They] simply are". And that's what set them apart from all the other alien villains we've faced in countless games- The Combine, Covenant, the True Sith, hell, even the Burning Legion.
I'm not upset by the fact that things ended the way they did, because honestly, how else are you going to defeat untold numbers of what amounts to Robo-Great Old Ones? I'm more upset with how it happened, if that makes any sense. And really, unless they do SOMETHING to clear up the ending, either through the Extended Edition DLC, some other DLC, or the real nut-cruncher, PICKING ONE ENDING AS CANON, I don't see there being any real way to pull off another installment unless it's set during the Shepard trilogy. Which already raises the question of canon events.

You're upset with the dark energy stuff being cut out, how about Emily Wong being killed over twitter or Kal'Raeger dying in an email or saving Morinth only to get two emails and a named banshee? And, I enjoy the hell out of the game but, I think there are some worse insults than the ending. I'm all for the Extended Cut DLC, if for nothing else so they'll focus on other SP stuff and leave that screwed pooch alone. What's the line from Futurama? "You watched it and You can't unwatch it." or something to that effect. That's part of the problem, buy hey at least we didn't get shafted like Final Fantasy XII-2. The ending may have sucked by at least we got one.

Emily died like a badass, albeit in a way we will never see. I consider it a worse insult that we get stuck with Allers, and I say that not because of her association with IGN, but because she is in every way an inferior character to Emily. Acting, personality, hell I'm willing to bet even in universe she gets less viewers than Emily did.
I was considerably more upset with Reegar's death. I'm not adverse to the fact that he died- given what we know about him and his dedication to duty, it was inevitable- but more because YOU DO NOT KILL ADAM BALDWIN OFFSCREEN. And as for Morinth... Eh, I always picked Samara. The only reason I took Morinth was so I could unlock Dominate, then I just reloaded to before the choice and took Samara.

I could care less about Wong, Allers is basically the same character - only without the history. My issue lies is killing her off on Twitter, not in game but in a f**king tweet.
I agree about Adam Baldwin, worse when you know they could see how much of a fan favorite Reegar was. I did keep Morinth around for a whole play through, I really don't know why anyone would choose her over Samara but they do. Even if the ending was what the majority wanted, they were still going to catch hell. It most likely wouldn't have been anywhere near as bad but, they were going to get creamed by the fans regardless.

Shepard should have died in blaze of glory, not a fizz of mediocraty.
