The problem with Rodimus, from what could gather, was quality control. Various breakages and ankle problems, not holding his gun well, and some other problems. I'm sure someone who actually has had problems with their MP-09 could let you know better. For such a steep price, people were expecting much better. I think Takara addressed most of these issues with a re-release of the toy.
I know when the TRU version came out, we still had a lot of breakages, at least collectors in Canada did. Various people reported arms snapping off, etc. And it happened frequently enough with different collectors for it to be more than mere user error. Thankfully I haven't had any problems with mine yet, though I did only transform it a couple times and now it stays in robot mode. Even though I got 30% off mine, it still sucks when you have a toy that you're afraid to transform. Glorified paperweight. Last edited by pud333; 04-07-2012 at 12:25 PM.. |

The only real issue in that regard that I found with the original MP-09 was that the backpack clasp never has worked right. Hasbro's version took care of that so far as I can tell. With Hasbro's release, it's been more poor quality in cleaning up plastic flashing and assembly issues. I can't really hold either those against the design of the figure itself.
Admittedly, that's why I buy two of most every TF I own. Since I don't really play with them, I see no reason to go through the hassle of transforming them just to change up a display. One stays in bot mode, the other alt. At best, they're transformed two or three times while I decide which looks best in which mode. Last edited by Hicks_Royel; 04-07-2012 at 03:56 PM.. |

Not me. As a general rule, I try not to buy third party stuff.

as a rule l buy all the best third party stuff. igear minibots look freaking awesome.
you can see in this pic seaspray and huffer are large legends. braun and cosmos are closer to scout (like the size of windcharger in this pic). i havent officially heard how big gears is, but im asuming he is the scout size like braun and cosmos. way too small for mp displays though.
