In GI Joe: The Movie didn't Golubulus say he was gonna stain his hands with Falcon's blood?

Actually the funny thing about that is (after years of claiming the contrary) Hasbro said in NYTF that Clone Wars hasn't been selling that great and are cutting back now. That's why there are only two waves known right now. Hasbro has said they are putting Clone Wars on the back burner.

Thank God. I was hoping they would produce 18 more versions of X-Wing Luke.

This is WAY worse than the line in the Clone Wars episode.

I hate the internet...I don't mind that people have their own opinions, just that they share them.
How are you connecting a Star Wars program with a GI Joe program? There is NO logic in this post. Hasbro only makes the toys, Lucasfilms does the television show. Last time I checked, Prime Time television on cable channels isn't exactly kid-friendly. And just because its a cartoon it isn't necessarily kid-friendly either. Maybe when Lucas starts making Joe or Hasbro buys the Star Wars franchise will this make ANY sense, until then, please refrain from making nonsensical posts. I am saying that IN GENERAL why does SW CW get a FREE PASS to expose kids to people chopping off heads with lightsabers and that is all okay. |

You preach about you don't mind people having opinions as long as they don't share them. Then why the hell did you pipe in your worthless 2 cents? Last edited by Cobra80; 03-19-2012 at 06:40 AM.. |

I am just trying to figure out why if parents are cool with kids watching SW CW with all the killing and crap that goes on in that show its cool. But if something like that happened in a Joe cartoon I am sure some parents would be upset and wouldn't let their kids watch it.

Sorry, I am deleting this topic because RuckusJr says "I hate the internet...I don't mind that people have their own opinions, just that they share them."
Thanks RJr |

You may not want to hear it, but it's absolutely the truth: "Fantasy Violence" gets a WAY bigger latitude in the US than "realistic" violence.
The battle between Lurtz and Aragorn at the end of Fellowship of the Ring would have been a straight-up R rating if Lurtz were a human and red "human" blood was being spilled. Likewise, Star Wars lightsaber and blaster violence tends to get a pass because it's "bloodless." Not really something you can pull off with a Ninja sword (at least not without it being silly). I would also note: You got what seems to be exactly the kind of Joe cartoon you wanted with Resolute. I don't recall any parents complaining. But yes, if they started showing Roadblock exploding Cobra Troopers' heads like ripe melons with .50 caliber rounds...yeah, that's not gonna fly on a "kids" show. I'm not 100 percent certain, but I think the reason "fantasy/sci-fi" violence gets more leeway is because the idea is that kids can't actually emulate it because things like blasters and lightsabers aren't real. Whereas guns (the preferred weapon of G.I. Joe) very much are (the reason they're almost always made into "lasers" on the animated programs). Little Billy can't rummage in daddy's closet and find a functioning Lightsaber, but he might find a hunting rifle that he could shoot Joey the neighbor kid with. Is it silly? Sure, but it's a double-standard we've been living with for decades now. Wow. Is this your first time on the internet? Last edited by Jmacq1; 03-19-2012 at 06:46 AM.. |
