So, you talked to this guy? Does he honestly think the FTC is going to force Bioware to come up with a new ending?
After seeing all the rage about them while I was waiting for my copy, I spoiled them for myself. While, they don't sound great - they don't sound craptastic either. Hopefully some DLC will fill in the gaps. I know that's not an answer a lot of folks want to hear but like you said times are changing. I'm about 40 hours into my first playthru and it's exceeding my expectations, probably because the only one I had was "Wait, in ME3, I'm gonna have the Quarians, Geth, Krogan and Rachni on my side?! Hell yeah." All I'm missing so far is the Rachni. |

I won't spoil it, but i think you'll see the culmination of more than just one complaint about the ending. You have to finish it to have it in context to the end. Then you will understand more fully.. A youtube clip or a single description doesn't grasp it properly.
I briefly talked to him in a forum. his mind was made up.

You're probably right. Hopefully if it causes a negative reaction, I can give Bioware the benefit of the doubt until they're done supporting the game with DLC.
I will admit though, I kinda doubt that I'll despise it. If I could enjoy Dragon Age II enough to not only buy all the DLC but play through the game at least six times - I think Bioware has their work cut out for them if they're trying to piss me off. |

DA2 isn't the end of the franchise unlike ME3..

That's not exactly true. ME3 is the end of Shepard's trilogy, not the franchise. Mass Effect is going to continue in one form or another, they've said as much - it's a cash machine, no way either EA or Bioware lets it go away.
My opinion is this; It's their game. While they gave us some input on the overall direction, it still belongs to them. I never expected that input would go as far as my imagination would take it, it's not realistic because it's my imagination, my spin on things. It was ten years in the making, the hype machine hit ludicrous speed years ago after 2 came out, nothing short of heaven on earth would live up to the expectations people were building up for it. Ultimately, whether I'm satisfied or disappointed with the ending is kind of irrelevant, I don't intend to let 10 minutes or so ruin 10 years and hundreds of hours of enjoyment. |

Once again, I disagree. I don't think Mass Effect has been even close to a true RPG since ME1 and the series got better for it. I think will see more games similar to 2 or 3. Then again, that's only if Bioware gets to make the next one.
My apologies, I was wrong about the amount of time we've all invested in this series, six not ten. Anybody else find the conversation between Cortez and Vega about the Mako/Hammerhead hilarious? Or Javik's comments about Salarians? |

Yes on both counts. Along with Vega and Garrus' banter in the mess hall.

Second play through...got to the point where I united Quarian and Geth...didn't know it would work. But now I can't bring myself back to the game knowing how it will end..God damn it.
