I recently read through the entire Marvel series. Ninja Force was the beginning of the end, but there were still good stories in the 110s and 120s. But by the time it came to that story I was up to here with reading about Snake-Eyes and his invincible ways. That was 3 more issues of absolute SE-fanboyism, with 3 other Joes doing play-by-play and going on about how cool Poochie is. Of course, after that the series got progressively worse until the cancellation. As for the pyramid itself, I guess Firefly was just trying to troll SE or his brainwashed ninjas by poking fun at the secret Arashikage moves. |

I don't think so - no more than Firefly was suppose to be the gunner. In the story, Wild Weasel had piloted Firefly and himself to the Everglades. Later, he pilots CC back to Springfield, if memory serves. In fact, his ineptness as a driver is a point in the story. (I looked it up - later, WW is a gunner while Destro and the Baroness pilot a Moccasin!).

I'm so glad to have Larry Hama writing the ongoing continuation, seems like a no brainer, the obvious thing to do, but it seems to have taken many years for it to come about. And he's still got it too. I actually liked some of the ddp stuff (minus the profanity), but the real deal has got to be Larry Hama, no question about it. It's been cool too seeing him work in some of these left off characters, like topside.

Did you add the eye patch? Paint it on? Looks great--got any close up pics? Either way, thanks for the info.

It just seems weird that every other vehicle in the Joe saga is piloted by the character/figure that came with the toy except the Moccasin with Copperhead. Sure other characters are seen piloting iconic vehicles, but usually when we first saw a vehicle in the comic it was with it's corresponding driver. Obviously it was part of the Hasbro/Marvel marketing machine, but I had always been puzzled by this deviance from the norm even if I never gave it much thought. I thought maybe Hama didn't like the character of Copperhead because I thought I had read somewhere that he didn't include some characters because of a dislike for them.
