Which is to say, please tell me about Stalker.
Stalker is one of the very few vintage figures I never had as a lad, and I never read the comics when I was a kid and I don't remember him being much of a presence in the animated series; I don't remember him appearing at all, truth to be told. Obviously, I could simply research Rangers online and hit up Joepedia for specific intel on Stalker, but I figured it'd be more fun to ask some geeks for info. To what extent is Stalker an important Joe character? How do you use him? On the Badass Scale, where does he fall? What's your favorite Stalker figure? How do you feel about the dreadlocks on the Resolute/30th figure? What does being a Ranger entail and signify? What's the symbol on his beret mean? (Photo by LastBestAngryMan). Thanks! Also, as always, please feel free to post photos of your Stalker figures. |

He is so badass, his replacement(Beachhead) never actually replaced him.
He was a leader of men and kept shit together. |

He appeared a lot in the first (and second IIRC) animated ARAH mini-series but after that his appearances were few and far between. I think he was front and center in the DiC Dragonfire mini as well in his arctic gear (despite them not being in the arctic). Quote:
Prob the original one just because it is the original and I am biased to O-rings. Although version nine is pretty damn good, and version four (as far as arctic goes) is good too. I find it unnecessary, but it isn't horrible. |

Stalker was always one of my favorites. In the comics, he co-founded the team along with Hawk. 'Nuff said!
As a kid, I always liked the Talking Battle Commanders version. I slapped a Han Solo Endor trenchcoat on him to cover up his flat back (where the giant backpack used to be) and let him go to town! I'm fine with dreads. If it's a way to keep the character modern and relevant, that's cool with me. |

I just knew that Stalker was top three with SE and SS. Here's my Custom kitbash that I had dedicated to you (Monte).

Stalker is a badass. He was my second Joe after Snake Eyes. I liked how his camo made him stand out from the rest of the OG 13.
He saw a lot of facetime in the old Marvel run from the OG missions to the Snake Eyes origin. His character was probably most developed after the botched mission in which he, Quick Kick and Snow Job were captured. His leadership qualities really came out then, especially when he showed support for Outback whom many of the Joe's had ostracized.

Yeah, Stalker was one of the best. Played a huge role in the comics, and the vintage figure was one of my favorites in the original line...he was practically in every mission back in the day, along with Snake Eyes. The 25th/ME one from the Target Ultimate Battle Pack (darker camo) is probably my favorite, nowadays. I like the 30th version, but am not too big on the dreadlocks.

Thanks, lowlight! I'm finally getting an Arctic Snake Eyes for the first time soon, so it's nice to see him used for customizing!

I always liked Stalker when I was a kid, and for my Joes he was the acting 1SG (I never liked Duke).
The 30th version is my favorite Stalker so far |
