I guess the debate about kids and the tank is settled.
We just front paged a crotch.

I can't wait to get my hands on these 7 packs!! My two ideas for 7 packs were the Dreadnocks (minus Burnout, and add a classic retake on Monkeywrench instead), and Sky Patrol (with working chutes) plus an '84 Ripcord done PROPERLY. The Sky Troops would be easy to make, due to repaints.
For the record, the original Ripcord (84) was one of my favourite characters, and they completely screwed things up by drastically changing him. It would be tantamount to making Roadblock a 60 year old white guy...what the hell were they thinking? |

From the pics, the Marauders set looks best. Zanzibar not looking like the ARAH version(I dug that one) and other aspects disappoint me. Might still buy the Dreadnok set nonetheless, Road Pig and Zandar are tight, Zanya was a neat, unexpected touch.

Other than the fact Henry Winkler is still alive and well, I agree with the assessment of Thrasher or whatever they call him now. That knoggin is less than pleasing to me.

At least the eye balls are painted straight. Many times these multipacks have lop sided painted eyes which makes the figures look like they have lazy eye.

I feel you. I dumped the IDW Joe when I was expecting an actual Rip Cord story, and instead got.. not sure what, since I stopped reading. The terrible name reissue is the bane of modern collecting. I still have nightmares over Crane Grimlock and Batcroc Soundwave from the TF-line. Since the new version doesn't look or act anything like the old version, just think of them as two different guys with the same codename. Rip Cord and Ripcord. Hopefully there's still room in the franchise for the old Wallace Weems. Now, back to the topic at hand. Not a big fan of these sets, truthfully. The Joe one consists of ugly repaints and ugly remakes of characters that even originally looked silly and didn't really have a place in the Joe-verse. Mercer I could buy single if I can get my hands on one, because he had an interesting backstory. As for the Dreadnoks, it's a bit hit and miss. It does include some semi-important characters I have to own, so I ordered it, but I never was a big fan of the Dreadnoks, and these are the less useful ones at that. Zanya is maybe my least favorite Joe-universe char. Terrible fanficcy rubbish. That Zanzibar looks even worse than the original, which is saying a lot. Zandar... pink and turqoise aren't my ideal colors for a Cobra-member. The ones I do like are Road Pig and Gnawgahyde. Road Pig was pretty important in the comic and had his funny moments, personality-wise. Gnawgahyde is actually my favorite Dreadnok because I can imagine him being useful outside the basic biker-setting. He could actually take part in some real battles. Thrasher is ok, too. Hmmm, should I now buy the Thunder Machine? I'm probably sounding overtly negative, but don't get me wrong. I love getting new versions, and these sets really came out of the blue. So, remakes of bad characters are definately better than nothing. |

With Red Dog's football, I see a Capt. Gridiron being released either by Hasbro themselves......or as part of the Club's next subscription set of figures if Hasbro lets them use the mold for the football.
Is it just me or does it seem Falcon has had his neck stetched a bit oddly?

Ooh.......just realized that with the Sgt. Slaughter's done for last years SDCC and the new Red Dog, Taurus & Mercer molds for this 7 pack, we could very easily be getting a 25th/modern era redo of the 2006 JoeCon Slaughter's Renegades set for an upcoming Con set or something.
