That pic is too funny, but will probably be the case with it. |

Guys I think I have a problem.
I was never able to troop build as a kid. So I had one Viper, one trooper, one Crimson Guard Trooper, and one Cobra Officer fromm dad and one from my Mom. Flash forward to 25th Era; I didn't know about this site; didn't know that Hasbro or Target would not replenish stock, or that a wave would at most stay in circulation for a few months never to be seen again. I thought when they re-released GI Joe, it was like the 80s again and things would be on the shelf for years and years. The sadder part was that I came on right about when ROC was ready to hit theaters so that, by the time I got the lay of the land, toy collecting wise, 25th/ME begat ROC. Flash forward to now; I can't seem to not buy a Trooper or Viper everytime I see one at the store. I don't know if it is because they were hard to come by at first, or, this is how I would have been during the 25th/ME era had I been actively hunting, but I just keep getting them beyond what would be considered reasonable. First, I said just 10 each. Then when I got to that number, I would buy the random extra one here and there - to the point where I obtained my second set of 10 each. At that point I said 10 each to keep MOC and 10 each to open. Now, however, as Targets here have gotten into the GI Joe game again, I am close to my next 10 each. That is close to 60 figures the majority of which are still MOC. Here's the rub, don't really feel like stopping cuz eventual stock will run out, and I don't want to be saying if I had just gotten 5 more. Kinda like when a stripper you had been meaning to try out, but for more "certain" dancers being available, finally leaves the club, and you realize, a "rusty trombone" from her is no longer a possibility |

Buying a new figure is such a rush for all of us. If I was single (not married with no kids), I would have every damn figure there is to offer and troop build about 30 deep on blue shirts and vipers. But, I semi-restrain myself becuase I have others in my life that I must put first. LL, I say get them all while you can afford it and still enjoy it!!! On another note, time to reshuffle the figures, the Avengers just got a new lineup: Off My Mind: How Mighty is Captain America's New Avengers Lineup? - Comic Vine

I have a good story about Evil. Both him and I are hunting for that MH doll that I posted about the other day. Both agreed to get one for the other whomever got it first. Well, he hooked me up today!!! Funny thing about the story is where he got it from. Walmart? Target? TRU? Nope. Nope. Nope. Some teeenage (tweens) boutique in a mall called Justice. The man sure knows how to hunt for things. The man knows no limits. If you are reading this, thanks Evil. We speak your name!
Anyway, glad you got one! Like i said, when I find it, everybody finds it. Skull Shores, not shoals.

I saw that cat girl thing you posted Dolf... at Fred meyer there were plenty of it. So maybe check there. the snow monster one I remember someone talking about a long time ago was there as well but I don't know if they are common or not... A 'retro' Barbie doll that looks a little like my wife is the only "non-boy-toy" doll i've been able to bring myself to purchase.

You know LL...the sad part about that is I can relate to you. I think it's the thrill of finding something! Walking into the store, seeing the new figures on the pegs, and then the minute I leave with figures in hand, I feel empty again! When Sif and Black Destroyer were hitting up here, I HAD to go to every Fred Meyers in town...and out of town, and make sure I got them all! I swear we all have some sort of mommy-daddy issues! Grown men...and some women...hunting for toys...and then fighting over them too!! It's crazy!
I know I love the hunt...something thrilling about finding the newest wave or a variant, or HTF figure...but later that night...i crave trying to find something else. It's a sickness. I got back into collecting fully with the ROC line. I'd make up excuses to go to Wal-Mart at 3 am to see if they stocked a City Strike Snake-Eyes! I'll call hoarders on you, and you can return the favor and call Dr Phil on me! |

I started up again with all the Avengers title when Marvel started the "Heroic Age" banner. I stayed through until the conclusion of the first story arc for each of the titles. Afterwards, I concluded that there was nothing "heroic" about any of them and went back to being DC only. From my perspective each title just re-started a year ago, so I don't know why they have to have a "shake up." Do comics these days have to restart ever year now? I swear "Brightest Day" started with a bunch of No.1s, then afterwards "New 52" |
