I think I may be the only one here who has expanded his fictional (not toy) Joe unit into a Unified Combatant Command that includes Navy, Air Force, Army and Marine assets at almost every echelon. It's the heavy version of USSOCOM. I wanted to incorporate just about everything so I'm drawing up a new organizational tree. The infantry element of the Joes is made up of an entire division, the naval section has a Carrier Strike Group to protect the Flagg and an Expeditionary Strike Group to land the Joe's MEU, multiple Air Force Wings, and even though the entire Joe UCC is a "Special Operations Force", it combines SEALs, Special Boat Teams, Special Tactics Teams, Special Forces, Delta, Rangers, Psy Ops, Civil Affairs, Special Ops Aviation, and MSOBs into various-sized task units for Special Missions.

So who crews the 50 grizzlies?
I sort of have this problem with my say 400 character Joe team. I have say 250 vehicles. Some only need one crewman and some need 11 like the Rolling Thunder. Plus so many vehicles are piloted by the same driver. This is why It's mostly green shirts/Steel Brigaders around the central Joe Team. The hardest team for me to fit in are the Snow Joes. THere is almost never any reason to bring them along. I use the Battle FOrce 2000 guys but They are part of Tony Starks experimental weapons team. So even though I never refer to them as BF2000 they pretty much are.

They're just a separate unit altogether. Part of the team but station somewhere in Greenland or Alaska. I agree Snow Serpents are some of the best figures ever.

I think the obvious answer, depending on your situation, is that you don't bring the Snow Joes or Snow Serpents into a warm weather fight. Go have an arctic fight and leave your desert Joes and Cobras on the shelf for a little bit. LOL
Though, it would be great to see some Joes in a less specialized outfit, like Snow job in BDUs or Torpedo and Wet Suit in a dry combat SEAL uniform, for examples. I mean, we now have Arctic Snake-Eyes, Duke, Cobra Commander, Destro, Scrap Iron, and even a Tele-viper. We've got Pilot Scarlett; why not a Pilot Flint? We've got City Roadblock and Dress Blues Gung Ho. It would be too easy to give some Joes an alternate look to make the character - if not the figure - more versatile.

I've taken a similar approach. I have a small group so I don't need much in the way of maintainence and support, but where I'm lacking is transportation. I need to pick up a Tomahawk and APC badly so my Joes can stop jogging into battle and ride in style. In a cruel twist of fate, the transport vehicles that I shunned in my youth as "boring" because they didn't have missiles crammed on every surface are now the very vehicles I'm shelling out big bucks to aquire.

Don't forget the Ice Viper and the Wolf. I spent many a frigid Saturday battling Snow Serpent and Ice Viper in the snow banks around my house. I could never get the Wolf to run on it's skis. They tended to sink into most snow. The only time I ever got it to work right was on ice or really hard snow. With the white uni's and snow cave bases, the spector of lost Joes loomed large, but we braved it anyway and in the end no Joe was ever left behind. The only downside to it was the cold was hard on the O-rings. Most of my snow Joes ended up with little rubber bands that never worked as good as Hasbro original O-rings, but this was before the internet and my only choices were floppy legs or a broken Joe. When you engage in epic battles in those extreme conditions, you have to expect some casualties!

To my mind, that defeats the whole point of "Tiger Force". They are specific group of Joes with a Specific mission: Jungle Operations. If you need a group to be sent in as Advisors with a rotating roster, there's no need for a special name... "G.I. Joe" is already a codename. All they need to do is say "We're G.I. Joe and we're here to help."

I hope the get to that point with my collection at some point, but I only own multiples of a few small vehicles like LCV Recon sleds.

I think I'm the only regular on the thread who uses the Sub-Teams that Hasbro prescribed (Except Battle Force 2000), and I've spent an incredible ammount of time organizing my Joeverse to accomodate the Sub-Teams. To me, the Sub-Teams are part of the Hasbro Cannon... so I like to use them as a part of my Joeverse.
..... Anyway, that's what I do. Hope it helps, but honestly, I love talking sub-groups. Anything else you'd like to discuss/ask, please feel free. I collect all of them except BF2000, and I've given them all a great deal of thought. I usually have them rolling in vehicles as a 6-person Split A Team organization. They dont have the official Sub-team vehicles, they instead have 2 Humvee style vehicles attached to each A-Team. At this moment Sky Patrol, only has the C-130. The Color Guard has the Toys R Us Command Police Van. The Delta-type Teams are Helicopter Inserted. Also, I hate to admit it but, the Battle Corps Rangers are grounded for now. -Tiger Force - Typical Main Response A-Team (I think Oliverbox called it a Ruck). -Night Force - Maritime Operations & Mountain Operations, Boat inserted (here are my snow guys). -Battle Corps Rangers - Air Assault. -Battle Force 2000 - Urban Operations, ironically, none of Battle Force 2000 characters are part of this team. Also, Color Guard occasionally attached to this A-Team. -Sky Patrol - Military Freefall. The Real Sky Patrol and my Air Force Special Tactics Team guys (Slipstream, Pathfinder, Barrel Roll, Ripcord, Bombstrike, and Stretcher) I still have the Command/HQ "C" Team they are assigned a woodland camo Humvee I got from Smalljoes for Hawk, Duke, Flint and Beachhead. a "B" Support Team led by Courage and Psyche Out has the 2 Humvee Transports and 2 AWE Striker and the VAMP 1500. The 5-person EOD team has a Desert Camo Humvee, I also have a 4-person C-130 Flight Crew, 4 person SWCC/VBSS team on the Ensign Cutter, Three helicopter inserted 4-person Delta Force type teams, a 10-person MAS-X unit and the 6-person Color Guard. Yeah, I certainly have a multi-branch representation at every level of command, but with the exception of some support staff, I build my Joeverse based on my Toy Collection: If I can't actually field it, I don't claim it on my chain-of-command. That's probably why I own something close of 50 Patriot Grizzlies... if I want a Company of Tanks in my Joe Armor, then I better be able to field a company of tanks for my Joe Armor. That's just my feeling on the matter.
I am thinking of dissolving "D-01" Stalker's 4-person Delta Team, and assigning him to Battle Corps Rangers, placing Storm Shadow and Fred back to cobra. But then I wouldnt know what to do with Snake Eyes. It's kinda important for Snake Eyes to have Stalker's team or else he doesnt seem to fit anywhere. He might fit in the sniper type Delta team. Currently, my vehicles roster is: 2 AWE Strikers, 4 World Peacekeepers Humvees (with 2 additional Transport Humvees), 3 of those WalMart The Corps vehicles I use as VAMP 4500 and 2 ROC VAMPS, I call the VAMP 3500, and then the orginal VAMP as the VAMP 1500. A Toys R Us Police Command Van, "The Ensign Cutter" (Toys R Us Navy boat) commanded by Lt Cutter. Then my Rotary Wing "Flight" an AH-6, MH-6, UH-60 and a UH-65 Tomahawk, (It's what I call my World Peacekeepers Aerial Rocket Helo HH-65 camo) and the Toys R Us C-130. Yet, my 100 Cobra troops right now are all Infantry. LOL. MAS-X (Mobile Armored Strike-eXperimental), is led by Matt Trakker with the RHINO, Jackhammer (Steel Crusher), Snow Cat, Ice Dagger, 2 Armadillos, Dragon hawk and Tiger Rat. Still debating about the 2 Sky Hawk's I have. Are they watercraft or aircraft? I do have a question for those of you who have the smaller scale helicopters and aircraft. Do you only use the seats in the aircraft or do you use the imaginary seating of the official capacity of the aircraft? Like for example: the True Heroes UH-60, do you use the 8 seats, or the 14-16 in real life stats?
