Connecticut Rep. Tim Larson proposes making Halloween on last Saturday of October
Posted: 10/26/2011
Connecticut Rep. Tim Larson says he is looking to get a resolution that would make Halloween the final Saturday of October every year in his state. "My kids always end up with dad rushing home when it's during the week," Larson said. That's just one of the reasons why Larson is putting the idea out there. "It just makes it a much more relaxed event," he said. It's just an idea at this point. This year, Halloween falls on a Monday, meaning kids are out on a school night. For some, Larson's idea is a spooky one, and having Halloween on the last day in October is a tradition that shouldn't be tarnished. "It's the idea that we're actually spending time debating Halloween rather than debating the real issues at hand," said Sen. Rob Kane of the 32nd Assembly Dist. But Larson said his proposed change could lead to a potential economic impact. "It's about a $7 billion industry, so it may even create some more jobs along the way," Larson said. So, do you think Halloween would be better always being on a weekend? Or should this goulash tradition remain? Connecticut Rep. Tim Larson proposes making Halloween on last Saturday of October
