I live in a small town in NC. When it comes to collecting Joes there’s a Kmart and a Wal-Mart. The nearest Target is 1.5hr away, the nearest Toys R us in 2 hrs. away. Neither the Kmart nor Wal-Mart has carried Joes since 2009 with the ROC line. So imagine my surprise when I walked into a local CVS and found a 30th anniversary IG. At first I wasn’t going to buy it because I thought $11.99 was a bit much for a single figure. But then I remembered that some figures are going for that and more online. There are 2 other CVS stores in the area the second had nothing; the third had a Steel Brigade trooper and a Stalker. I got the 3 figures. This was about a week ago and they have already restocked.
So to my question, does anybody else find this just a little bit sad that Kmart and Wal-Mart are not carrying Joes, but CVS is?

If we didn't have the internet these days, sure it would be stupid...but in todays world with the millions of outlets (especially online) anyone can get the figures they want whenever 24/7

I was living in a small town in KY, and had to drive up to 30 min to the wally mart that carried joes, K-mart was bust of course, but there were a couple of really good smaller retailers that I could count on as well (Sometimes for a buck more, but better that than either scalper prices or shipping). I had to move to TN, this has been hard, I am not sure of the stocking patterns here yet (I had known them where I lived before and could catch most anything being put up), there are just as few options (Target and TRU very far away), At least the Wallys do carry joes (and MU) but I do hate the situation right now, at least until I take the time to figure out the stocking patterns. |

idk what your options are but if you can save up some money and move more towards the city that has lots of wallys and targets, that would help if it is really a concern to you. i know paying shipping sucks but its just a part of collecting now, there is way more people that have started collecting so theres more competition at retail for getting what you want, also for how quickly waves fly off shelves and never return again, your either there when they hit or your not so online retailers are your best option.
plus if you are commuting to find toys at retail your probably paying more for gas then you would for shipping, i know finding figs in person is a lot nicer choice then buying them online but with how expensive gas is now, your better off shopping online.

Except the fact that the extra you have to pay on shipping does eat into your budget.

When you buy a case online the figures normally end up costing you less than if you were to buy them all at retail. Walmart, Toys R Us and Target are all selling their figures between $8-$9. On BBTS, Kokomo and Small Joes the figure's cost breakdown to about $7 a piece. There's the shipping and handling right there. Not to mention the gas you saved (which at nearly $4 a gallon here makes a huge difference)
I know, you don't want a full case. You only want certain figures. Sorry. You can sell the one's you don't want on ebay, new figs sell quick there even if you mark them up to $9-$10. Or you can trade them here on the tank.
