Grey Hulk was a variant to green hulk, and this is the same way.
The same situation with both. Just like stealth iron man at first. They are different but came short packed...as "variants" that is how Hasbro described them...not my definition. Hasbro took away the fun by re-releasing them and not making them limited. Green Hulk is #13 Grey Hulk is #14 The only Series 1 figure officially announced by Hasbro as a variant (and that went out the door earlier this year as variants don't come back) is #07 Flame-on Human Torch as normal Torch was #11 Light Blue with a running change to #11 Dark Blue.

We will just say that they are all different and leave it at that. LOL

They don't make Series 1 White Boots Punisher anymore either, but that didn't make him any more desired. ;)

I'm not very impressed with Composite Hulk, so there is no worry there on buying him-so more for the rest of you And I can finally drop this useless Marvel sub for a year (is he going to be the Marvel sub figure I hope?) I would have much rather seen something like a non-X-force X-23 re-paint... that would have been cool... but I guess everything now is all about the Avengers and tie-ins.

We've had three Punishers in this line so far and there's something wrong with each and every one of them. The first classic Punisher head sculpt was shit and the figure was the only one with a piece of crap body and fat hands. The second one had better paint apps, but the face sculpt still left little to be desired. The third, a freakin' Jim Lee style Punisher as I've always wanted, suffered from bad paint and little head syndrome.

I remember when the first Wave of MU figures were released, the folks at Hasbro were responding to all the instant Punisher hate by saying that everyone should be sure to go out and buy up all the white gloved Punishers because he would never be seen again.
