Oh, there is some kind of trade show this weekend so there should be new video Monday or so I'm betting.

Yep, Penny Arcade Expo (PAX). I heard some rumors, but nothing for sure. Haven't had time to check the BSN lately, though I'll provide a link to the Confirmed Features thread later.

I'm doing my fourth run of ME2. I did two renegade playthroughs: one to carry over into ME3, and one where I let everyone die just to see what happens. And two paragons: one as a Talimancer, and my current one is staying true to Ash. Not sure if I want to see Tali's face. I guess it depends on who they model her face after since Bioware has modeled female characters after real people before. I'm sure they'd pick a Middle Easterner, which I happen to think are pretty good looking.
Has anyone read the novels? Do they tie-in to the games well? Last edited by megalodon; 09-01-2011 at 03:51 AM.. |

Has anyone read the novels? Do they tie-in to the games well? If you mean "do they fit into the universe without interfering with the games?" Then yes, they do. If you mean "do they fill in some of the gaps and provide some backstory and details you otherwise wouldn't get?" Then also yes. If you mean "do they directly tie in to the games?" Then no, not as much. Still, they're pretty good, light reads. The first one especially gives you the story of Captain Anderson's failed bid to become the first human SPECTRE and how Saren screwed him over. The other books basically continue the story of one of the other characters from that first book. The comics are also good for that (and tie into both the novels and games well), but ultimately they're all on about the same level as the iPhone/iPod Mass Effect tie-in game: You get some fun details, but not at all necessary for full enjoyment of the games. (For those that might not know, the ME iPhone game showed the backstory between Miranda and Jacob, and how Jacob came to join Cerberus...you play as Jacob in the game). Then again, there are rumors that some of the novel characters may pop up in ME3 (one or two in particular), possibly even as party members....so for the folks that have read them that'll be an extra "easter egg." We know Kai Leng shows up in ME3.
I can't wait to eviscerate than xenophobic monstrosity with his own knife.

Pretty much SOP for Destructoid. I nearly imploded after hearing what they said about Sonic Colors.
Though Sega's response was pretty damn awesome.
