So on advice from a tanker I went back to the target close to my sons school. And to my surprise they had reset the toy section over night. New transformers the gl stuff and captain america wave 1 minus the wwII guess the stock person grabbed those.
So I picked up winter soldier, heavy art cap, the parachute and the one with the red armor. This is where the story gets good. I always feel weird buying toys when my kids Are not with me. As I get to the cashier he has a big smile and as he scans them he goes "oooh captain america" and chuckles I roll my eyes and notice he hasn't logged in to his pos so I chuckle and say "you need to log in" He re scans them and I am on my way. the total wAs 43 and change and I'm thinking ok 10 bucks a fig but it hits me 2 were 7.99 so I look at the recipt and he charged me for 3 deluxe figures. I walk straight to the customer service and explain what happaned. Now he scans each one to verify the price then does something says it will be returned to my card and hands me the bag. So as I am walking to the train I look over the receipt again. He returned 1 deluxe but did not charge me for the regular so now I got a figure for free. my question do I go back and explain again or chalk it up to fate? I believe in carma am I gonna lose my wallet now or was to make up for my $20 metro card I lost over the weekend. Ask yourself what would u do. |

Here's my take and some people are probably going to have an issue with it - but time is money. You gave the store 2 chances (your time/$) to get the transaction right. It should not be the customer's responsibility to re-check their receipt multiple times to make sure the store is charging them properly. I don't condone shifty tactics to try to slip one by the cashier, but it is really the store's responsibility to get this stuff right, as long as the shopper isn't trying to be deceitful. If you had noticed during the transaction or while in the store - it would be appropriate to point it out. But it shouldn't be your responsibility to spend more of your time/$ to go back to point out their mistake.

Skull you are a good guy, you know it...It is not your fault that they made a mistake, you were not trying to do anything shady to get a free figure, take it as good karma, you were blessed with a mistake. Or you could buy another one and give it to your son.

I honesty want to quite my job and go work for Target, I would have the most amazing toy area with the high sells in the region.
