As an MMORPG fan and a Joe fan, a Joe MMORPG would SUCK!!
It's not a franchise that lends itself to the MMORPG format. The mechanics alone, taking the Joes/Cobras into the setting, would be horrible.

I was working on an SNES style GI Joe RPG on Rm2k3, but lost interest and then lost all my code and art when I got a virus. Oh well, it was going to suck anyway.

I could not disagree more. Joe may have a small fan-base but is has one that feverishly want it to succeed. Most MMO's on the market had 0 fan base to start with and based on the strength of the game built their own. With the number of players playing MMO's these days (small estimate being 10 million according to some analysts) if you were to bring out a solid game you have a definite advantage in terms of sales.
One of the reasons Warcraft openly had some initial interest is because of the old RTS game so people wanted to explore that virtual world. GI Joe is the same concept only larger more popular characters with a much more diverse initial fan-base. I genuinely want to escape reality to that extent as well. |

unacceptable, i think hasbro should concentrate on trying to sell more action figures first, then a line of small appliances, then a theme park, then a musical, and then a mmorpg
