I'm sure we talked about this before...so how many of us are members of Ninja Force, minus the ridiculous outfits. (Actually I'd dress up as Nunchuk 24/7 if I could.)
What did or do you train and study in? What are some of your favorite martial arts weapons? In the past I have trained and studied: Brazillian Jiu Jitsu, Japanese Jiu Jistu (which I didn't care for) Escrima/Arnis/Doce Pares, JKD, TKD (briefly), MMA (which I refuse to acknowledge as a "martial art"), Muay Thai and some Combative Tai Chi which for whatever reason beat the crap out of my lower back. I'm quite fond of the Karambit and we often used it with the Escrima/Silat/Filipino stuff. Cue Headman Karate Kid jokes.... |

I got one of those cheap ass ninja swords on eBay, one with the throwing stars & knives in/on the handle, f***ing wicked.
Like a hawk I swoop down...take out my prey

Boxing, Judo, Japanese Jujitsu, Aikido, Kendo, Kenjutsu, Jojutsu, Hapkido, Escrima, Shotokan Karate, Tae Kwon Do, competed in MMA though never trained specifically in a MMA gym, XMA demonstration team for a bit too.
I would totally dress as T'Jbang. Armored tank tops and tiger stripe bandannas are the shit. |

Only thing I ever learned about fighting is to never do it, but if I do, to fight dirty. Soften the target up with some pepper spray, or table salt to the eyes, and then start swinging furniture. Yeah, I know, I'm a disgrace. People who aren't built like a Superman shouldn't try to fight like him though. If you're a nerd, go Lex Luthor.
As far as weapons, I used to have a real sword, but after a rather unfortunate accident (that's my story and I'm sticking to it) I only keep a wooden one now, which is fine as I can feel much less hesitation about using on another person. Also like to play with my crossbow once in a while, but I have yet to custom any trick arrows. |

When I was a kid I had serious aspirations of being a ninja when I grew up. I talked my mom into enrolling me in karate at the local place. Karate turned out to be nothing more than a series of disappointments to an eight year old with dreams of being a ninja. The pajamas were white instead of black, and no freaking mask. The place was in a strip mall instead of in an ancient temple on top of a mountain, and to top it all off the instructor wasn't even Asian. It soon became painfully obvious that I was not going to learn anything about stealthy assassinations or ninja magic. I quickly developed the philosophy of F#CK ninjas, get a gun like Rambo. Unfortunately mom was willing to pay for karate, but not a machine gun.

Sinanju is the only one true Martial Art.
All others (Karate, Kung Fu, Ninjitsu, etc...) are mere shadows of Sinanju which is the sun/light.

I took some stuff here and there, never placed much faith in katas and choreographed fighting. I have had some Muay Thai, Karate, MCMAP, Army combatives, Old-school Marine Corps line training, boxing, and about 3 months of Taijutsu in Okinawa. I have a little more faith in brawling experience and dirty fighting than anything.
I do, however, know a lot about fighting with a knife. I think it's funny how many people don't but seem to think they will be fine... when they're going to get themselves hurt or killed. |
