Sorry if this has been discussed before, but I found this funny blog.
http://www.cracked.com/blog/the-20-s...vehicles-ever/ I thought it was funny, but I think the writer failed to realize that some of the sillyness of the GI Joe verse is what made it so successful. We've always had realistic military toys as an alternative, but those lines lacked appeal to me b/c I think I enjoyed the more unique creativity of GI Joe designs. I mean, ninjas are a must. That Snowcat does not belong on the list. The Moray does not belong on that list. I agree with the rest of it. |

Some of them are spot on... The Snowcat? Really? There are many others that should be on here before the Cat!

Well, maybe his exposure to joe was just the cartoon and the toys, in which his statement holds up. They only killed people in the comic book iirc. Some of the vehicles on his list are reaching though...like the rattler, really? Last edited by Angry.Android; 10-25-2010 at 01:44 PM.. |

It's a funny list, but yeah, he bases a lot of his assessments on the cover art alone, and pretty much ignores anything past the "golden years", when the cartoon was on and all that. There are WAY worse vehicles out there! I mean, just look at the state of affairs around the time the line ended in '94...

I just remember the day it all ended for me was the day I saw the Bug. I mean, really? REALLY? The Bug? That's all your desingers could come up with?
Maybe it was bc I was getting older and my older brothers had stopped playing with toys so I was prematurly ushered into my teenage years. But the fact that the designs really took a turn towards awful just made it easier for me to move on. Sigh, now I find myself obsessed with the golden years. Did anyone else notice the art for the Moray? WTH is that guy at the bottom shooting at? His Cobra training classes didn't teach him that bullets do not work well under water. I thought that was funny. All I wanted was vehicles that can carry lots of troops internally. To this day, I still love the Warthog due to it's internal cabin thing. We need more stuff like that. |

this has some funny potential but it does fail.

Just looked like the author went through a vehicle box art archive and picked out 20 random vehicles and made fun of the pictures. Poor research, poor effort. If you don't know the subject matter and don't want to take the time to research it right, don't do it.
