Here are the IDW Joe comics for January 2011... and it looks like Helix is back.
GI JOE ORIGINS #23 Dr. Lester Horvath has transformed Michael Monk from a suicidal ex-soldier into the ultimate assassin. Now, the wolves are at the door and "the Mad Monk" has come to kill his one-time benefactor. It's time for Dr. Horvath to play his final card in a game where death is assured, but the revelation of a single number may change everything. GI JOE ORIGINS TP VOL 04 The beginnings of G.I. JOE continue to unfold in this latest collection including issues #16-19. The origin of master-of-disguise and mysterious enigma Zartan is revealed in his three-part tale, and Snake Eyes gets a tribute silent story! Writer Chuck Dixon and artists Alex Cal and Joe Benitez deliver more action and intrigue in this latest chapter of G.I. JOE. GI JOE A REAL AMERICAN HERO #162 The battle between COBRA and G.I. JOE heats up, as their former comrade, DARK SNAKE EYES, is unleashed on G.I. JOE. With STORM SHADOW on their side, though, the Joes may still be able to turn the tables on COBRA. GI JOE #26 "M.A.S.S. DESTRUCTION" rolls on as Snake Eyes and Helix battle alone in COBRA's lair. The two deadliest Joes are stranded with no hope of rescue and are surrounded by hundreds of COBRA troops. This is the bullet-riddled and sword-flashing confrontation Joe fans can't miss! GI JOE COBRA II #12 CLASSIFIED! TOP SECRET! This is the G.I. JOE book that defines the future for both G.I. Joe and Cobra. Don't miss it. GI JOE SPECIAL MISSIONS TP VOL 03 It takes A REAL AMERICAN HERO to handle these SPECIAL MISSIONS! Presenting G.I. JOE's Special Missions, re-mastered, re-colored, and collected for the very first time! This third installment collects G.I. JOE: Special Missions #15-21. Larry Hama and Herb Trimpe deliver biting, detailed, and war-forged tales that were too big for the ARAH continuity. Contextual material and introduction by G.I. JOE expert Mark W. Bellomo. |

My pocket book just cringed a little. Im gonna get em all! I like IDW's Gi Joe line! The main title, ARAH, and Cobra rule! H&Ms is good too, and origins is ok sometimes.

Ugh, after that last issue of Origins I am sooooo pissed that it's ending. The Mad Monk storyline is awesome. A character I really like. I hope he makes it out of this, and goes onto become a main character in Cobra, though I can see this having a tragic ending aswell.
I'll skip ARAH, of course. Can't wait for Cobra, can't get enough of that book. The Core book is picking up speed, though personally I loved the first year. I liked the smaller stories that were more suspense, then mindless action. I'm totally onboard so far, though. I'm interested to see where it's going. I'm really disappointed that we're losing Origins, and ARAH is continuing. Seems wrong on alot of levels, to me anyhow.

I won't miss Origins as it hasn't interested me in several months now. Cobra is the only Joe comic worth reading. God I wish DDP had the license again. At least they were truly passionate about G.I. Joe. IDW seems to be going for a quantity over quality approach, using writers who seemingly know little about the Joe universe, (outside of Larry Hama of course but even ARAH is awful).

What's so awful about ARAH? I've read 'em, but I'm occasionally slow on the up-take. What's your biggest gripe? I wanna make sure I'm not missing something.

I think it's awful. The writing is garbage.

The latest issue of ARAH was HORRIBLE.
Bupkis? The Baroness actually said bupkis? Scarlett shouting out martial arts moves? Bad. Very bad. Horrible. Where'd the real Hama go?
