Well I have to say thank you to all for your support. It feels good to be part of this community, like I did before this happened. I agree with all your ideas and feelings. Hope he gets his one day. Now that I know he grows that crap, if he indeed does, perhaps I can call some buddies (good guys) in L.A. that can take care of him regarding that.

I made a deal with him a while back and everything went smooth. I had no problems with him or it but then again it wasn't anything big. Anyhow I never had a personal problem with him but he did get out of hand at times with others. Regardless he is gone and it is a shame that your deal did not work out.
CIAD had the best advice as to how to take care of this. |

If he's in LA, you should be able to get his PD contact info here: http://www.lapdonline.org/inside_the...asic_view/6279 Last edited by botticus; 07-10-2008 at 08:53 AM.. |

From my experiences in other forums, you might find yourself well-served to call your local PD and his local PD (you have his name, phone number, and address, should be easy to locate him) in addition to filing the mail fraud claim. If his PD is up to it, a short trip out to his house might find your figures (or whatever he was supposed to send in return) on their way to you pretty quick.

This is why I have never attempted trading with anyone. I just don't want to get burned. I'll only do it in person.

Yeah, I've thought about that. Knowing what I know, and from personal experience, I don't think any PD would waste their time. They would file a report and, if anything, give it to a Detective that will close it out. I'm still considering the idea though. Thanks for your input.

I have probably had 100+ trades on various boards, and haven't had one really bad deal. I have been cautious, but it has all worked out for me really well. |

I was a part of another thread in which Cornbot was also adding more than his 2 cents worth concerning an awesome Tanker who was selling his collection due to personal reasons. Cornbot started to attack other Tankers and wanted to escalate things to a personal level. He was completely out of line and the Mods handled the situation quickly and appropriately (they even deleted his asinine responses and posts)
He was immature and attention seeking to say the least. In fact, I'm pretty sure he is reading these threads right now with pride in the way that he has disrupted things. In a way, I pity him. To hide behind a screen name and belittle people to inflate your self-esteem is childish and tragic all in the same breath. I'm sorry that things like this happen on the boards but perhaps we should end the discussion here and not give any more credit or validity to this sorry individual. |

I have been burned on Ebay but never on boards. In some ways I think it is saver ( not a word I think) on boards than Ebay Ebay does not care as long as they get there money but with boards you have people that want to help right the wrong even going and knocking on the person door

Unfortunatly these people dont have consciences, for some reason it reminds me of my Diablo ii days, (insidently I started playing it again), there were so many people trying to scam/hack others in trades, and I was a victim once. He did the switcharo with me so when I clicked on the item I ended up getting an item that looked like what we agreed on but wasnt. From then on, I was so carefull in trades, if anything seemed suspicious in any way, just get out of there b/c its not worth the risk. I was always a very trusting person with high moral standards, and its situations like these (not in video game situations, real life I mean), that make me a little more mindfull of others, you can still be the nice person, just keep your guard up, and remember that trust is earned, so dont give it to them right away. You feel like crap when it happens but you also get a lot out of it in experiance, its life, I truely believe that.
