Sorry to change the subject but I'm curious as to how everyone uses Psyche Out in their 'verse?
Is he an Intel Officer? Military Deception? Operational Psychologist who either interrogates captured Cobras or observes the interrogations (like the tv show Lie To Me) I have him as the CO of Night Force which is the CIA branch of the Joe team. They have the Intel (Lady Jaye and Chuckles) and Political Action operators, They do things the Joes can't do like rig elections in places like Sierra Gordo to make sure Cobra backed agents don't get elected or create black propaganda to make sure they don't. As CO he's also responsible for the para military guys like Snake Eyes and Low Light and Ninja Force who actually do what they're supposed to; political assassinations (usually by sneaking in and using slow acting poisons), sabotage and all the stuff the Joes can't do under the articles of war. |

I always envisioned him as a PsyOps guy. You know, the dudes who bombarded Manuel Noriega with super loud heavy metal, 24 hours a day? From what I know of them (which isn't much), their function is to demoralize, destabilize and generally screw with the enemy's head until they become more or less ineffective as a fighting force.

Yeah I always thought Psyche Out, Scoop and maybe Big Brawler would make a good tactical PsyOp team

I kind of wish We got a new Pysche-Out. AS soon as he was added to the Joes he immediately got respect. He led one of the teams when they intervened in the Cobra Civil War. (The Joes were woefully short on Officers). But then they kind of let him wither away. I've been waiting for some Marvel Universe figure to come out or even Star Wars that may look the part.
After they make the 4 or 5 figures that are totally still missing, Psyche-Out would be part of that top 10 they still need to make. Still missing (Cover-Girl, Airtight, Lifeline, Sci-Fi, Iceberg) (None I really am missing but they should just remake them all at this point) Top 10 after that: Muskrat Salvo Mercer Claymore Psyche-Out Keel-Haul Toll-Booth Cross-Country Dodger Big-Ben Jinx OK that's 11. Most of them I want to get a new look. I'm glad they have left out Air-tight, Sci-Fi, Lifeline, Pyche-Out, SCoop, Light-Foot, Grid-Iron, Sneek-Peak, Crazy-Legs, because a direct copy would make a lame figure IMO. I hate Yellow on any figure. Still they should add at least one classic look figure to each wave or maybe a now and then 2 pack?

Yeah, sorta. I guess what Im trying to understand is, with this new arrangement. Since the Brigade, not the Division, will be the specialized Stryker, Heavy, Infantry, Airborne, and Air Assault. With Divisions being general purpose command units that can command any modular brigade team and that Brigades wont be tied to a certain Division for a long duration, it will be modular. If this is the case, will they use a better identifier for individual Brigades? Since there will be 10 different 1st Brigade Combat Team, 2nd BCT, 3rd BCT, etc, etc? Since they plan to have 48 Brigade Combat Teams they might as well make them unique.
Or maybe I'm just making this too complicated and the Army has it figured out? |

I know this is old info, but would the Royal Blue Berets be the same US Air Force's Phoenix Raven Team?
So Im using POC Beach Head and 25th Cobra Flint as Pathfinder, without the vest, with goggles to simulate the glasses, as The Special Operations Weather Technician. His gear on his leg works great for weather equiptment. Just need to paint his beret grey. "Members in this career field can later move on to other specialties like the Phoenix Raven program, consisting of airmen who secure air strips in dangerous or combat zones that do not already have adequate security." |

I haven't seen anything that indicates the Army will redesignate the BCTs as you described. I believe they'll just keep the brigades distinct by keeping their division identifer. So you might have 1st Brgd "Bastonge", 101st Abn working alongside 1st BCT, 82nd Abn. The division lineage will be retained even though any division can command any BCT. This just allows more flexibility.

I plan on just using a fairly plain uniformed figure (probably the SRO Hawk without gear and with different legs) and a new head-sculpt for Psyche-Out. He'll likely be an advisor type who stays at base.

I don't know if there is a better place for this question, but if the answer is out there I can't imagine that one of the regulars on this thread won't know...
Do we know what Ranger unit Stalker was part of before joining the Joe team? The reason I'm asking is I'm painting a Stalker headcast for a fellow Tanker and I am going to do the beret as accurate as possible to his "real world" unit. I know the Rangers have tan berets, but I'm not sure how to paint the flash. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! |
