So since everyone on here collects Joes it stands to reason some of you also collect Transformers. If you are in the Transformers "Know". You are aware of Transformer Knock-offs and such. You may also be aware that Hasbro is up in arms about it. They are trying to shut them down. (Its a company in China.) Hasbro is also blacklisting any American retailers selling them. Its basically copy right infringement. Now my ultimate question, Do you think now with the hotness of the 25h line, that these KO characters will try to Knock that off too? Especially hotter figures, Yellow Stalker, Pimp Destro, and Roddy Piper?

Hmmm...it's a possibility some weird Joe knockoffs might show up at Big Lots or something but I doubt they'd be of the quality of the Transformers knockoffs that are almost perfect duplications of the original toys, even down to packaging.

Hmm, wicked cool Japanese toy now in the colors I want or an empty cardboard box? I think I'm gonna have to stick with Hasbro Somehow I doubt we'll see Joe KO toys that look almost excatly like the original 80's toys. The closest we've seen is poorly made knock offs or bootlegs (Worse than your typical KO or Bootlegs) |

yup! thats what happens when there's a demand for it. others will step up and try to sell the KO's as legit figures.

Shogi, what about when people wanted a reissue devastator and Hasbro wouldnt do it? And then the really Good KO's of it started to flood in. Yeah they cost a bit but they are damn near exact copies. Even down to the box. With hasblow, we have to wait till they feel like it. And then they give us a modded newer version, like Soundwave with Soundblasters Chest. And while some may feel its an improvement, it isnt the original.

I'll give you that sometimes the KO's are what people want. I just really have a big problem with the KO's costing the same as the vintage ones (Maybe slightly less) It's still only a KO and shouldn't demand a high price like toys from 30 years ago. a MISB Optimus that has survived 30 years without a scratch has become rare enough to warrant a price tag of $200 or more but a KO MISB Optimus that was just made should not have a price tag of $80. Heck I've even seen Bubblebee KO's going for $30! That's a figure that was re-released just a few years ago (Mind you it was as a keychain) and was seen in Wal-Marts as early as last year for $10 or less!
If the company making these thinks it can make a superior product that demands such high prices, then let it come up with an original idea to showcase this talent and not just copy what someone else did |

I think I'll decorate my office at work with nothing but Insecticons. Dozens and dozens of Insecticons... Oh, and I found the Bumblebee and other G1 mini-car keychains at Wal-Mart just a few months ago for like $3 each. |
