Nice work, Tyroc. Those are great.
Speaking of the A-Team, there's a show on now that reminds me a lot of the A-Team... Do y'all watch "Burn Notice" on USA? I really like that show.

Thanks Oliver, yeah Burn Notice is awesome. I'll watch anything with Bruce Campbell but the whole ensemble does a great job.

I'm doing a custom Michael Westen for my Intel Section. He's perhaps the best action hero on TV since Thomas Magnum. He's WAY more charming than Jack Bauer...
By the by, did you see the last few episodes of "24"? That was out of control!!!

No, I missed the first season so have never seen an episode. I ripped the first 5 or 6 seasons then lent it to a friend over a year ago. I just have so much else to watch and catch up with. I've heard it's good though. I'll definitely buy the complete box set when it's released.
At the moment, I'm re-watching the Unit and the first season of a UK show called Ultimate Force which is based on the SAS. It's very gritty kinda like The Shield except the budget is pretty slim. Only 6-8 episodes per season though. |

I've only ever caught one episode of Burn Notice. It seemed good. I never watched 24 either, but like once or twice. (It came on at bedtime) So I know I missed out.

If you missed "24" then you really missed something special. It was 8 Seasons and one TV movie in total, and I cannot say that every season was good. Seasons 1,2, 4, and 5 were very good... and Season 5 - quite possibly one of the greatest seasons of television of all time! The other seasons were less than perfect, and season 6 was REALLY bad. The show is worth your time to check out, though. Jack Bauer has become a Popcultre icon, and he's make a great Joe.

Not really. Although they seem to make decent action Movies, but I wouldn't understand them anyway.

Loose, it's worth it to get "Burn Notice" on DVD. It's worth it. It's a truely great show. It's a lot of fun - it's like a cross between Magnum and the A-Team set in Miami. Pretty awesome.

Yeah I've seen Burn Notice once here On Armed Forces Network, but programming seems to rotate randomly. I know all about 24, it's just with kids you end up missing all the good shows that come on a 8 or 9PM. once I missed the 1st two seasons, more or less, I didn't bother trying to catch up. After 6 seasons, I realized I didn't feel like I had a hole in my soul where 24 was suppose to be. Plus I've grown to love series on DVD, where I can just watch the whole thing at once.

Ultimate Force lasted around 4 seasons. Only 1 season was released on DVD in Australia that I know of. I'll have to track the others down from the UK.
Ultimate Force Ultimate Force - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia follows the adventures of Red (Mobility) troop of (I think) 22 SAS. It mainly revolves around a SSgt who looks like Michael Chiklis. The first season starts with the indoctrination and training program of the SAS and the very few who make it through. Of the 3 that make it in, one is played by the Indian doctor from Heroes. Within the first episode we see the two new recruits (one is sent to Boat Troop) interact with the rest of the troop, go on their first mission (rescuing hostages from a bank) and having to deal with officers (one played by Apollo from BSG) and after action reporters ..they have to account for all their bullets, path of movement and who shot which of the bad guys etc. It's the sort of show that if it had been made in the US or had a much bigger budget would have gone over gang busters. The storylines are fantastic and the acting is gritty and superb but the action sequences whilst seeming very realistic would be much better with a bigger effects budget. During the first season we see them use the Kill House a few times, have arguments with other troops (one leader was played by ex SAS turned author Chris Ryan), stop a CNBR threat etc. It also offers a peek into the signals side of things and some of the drab run of the mill necessary operations things like trying to kill time while those in charge make decisions. They also show how the SAS infiltrate buildings, structures etc. Awesome stuff. Each season (like most Brit shows) only go 6 or so episodes. |
