Here is my advice:
1. Don't pick up girls online, unless its a dating website (ex:Match.com) 2. If your 18 or almost 18, don't date girls under 18 3. Long Distance relationships don't work Number 2 is very important because you could go to jail and you could have to register in the sex offender database. Is a underage girl worth all that?

Remember the age rule: half your age plus 7.
If you are 18, that's 9 + 7 = 16. If you are 40, then 20 + 7 = 27. Not bad eh? And if you are 10, that's 5 + 7 = 12. Yeah, you win either way. |

Even though I believe 17 is too young to get into a long term relationship, I also don't think you should be afraid of ruining a friendship by taking it to the next level. You'll most likely part ways when either of you find a serious relationship.

My question is,when and how did you 2 meet up? Did she come to your state or the other way around? Either way how does a 14 or 16 year old travel out of state without a parents concent or what kind of parent would allow such a trip to take place. If she came to you,she sounds like a run away and you might be charged with multiple offences.
Im not trying to be an asshole or anything, its just that with her age,it becomes a legal issue. Im just wondering. |

Speaking of Rule #2 (great one BTW)...
I have two examples: #1) guy used to work with was 17, she was 17. He turned 18. Her parents caught them at it, in the back seat of his car. Father wanted to press statatory charges on the guy. Mother talked the father out of it. #2) friends brother was 17, girl was 15. Been dating for over a year. He turned 18. They broke up. She got mad. She brought charges against him. He's in the Offender database, he's 30 now, and anytime he moves he has to register and let the local PD know he's there (or they come looking for him). It pops up when back ground checks (for work) are done. He's been to jail a couple of times for not registering, in fact he's currently doing a year in jail for not registering (repeat offender).

Ive heard the boy dont have to be 18 to be charged. For example he could be 16 and the girl can be be like 14 or 15,he can still be charged.

Depends on the state and their individual laws.
