I know the one who works Austin because in a comradely way I was admiring the 2 City Strike SE's and the Benchpress in his hands he tried to give me his card and said I could buy these (showing me his not-yet-purchased haul) from his on-line store.

Case in point:
Went to Ross today - 6 Joe packs, no Cobra packs. Must be the scalpers, right?! I mean, all the good stuff is gone! Except I happen know that it was another 'Tanker who bought all the Cobra packs. So a collector got all of them, not a scalper, despite the fact that it's the typical scenario brought up by the people who consistently complain about how scalpers must be beating them to it because the have no jobs. There's just no way to know if it was a scalper or collector. 's all I'm trying to say.

Seriously, the only reason I scored any 25th W9 when it hit was because somebody bent some of the cards. Just don't damage the friggin' filecards and I'm happy. What really pisses me off lately is that when I go to the Hasbro Toy Store I have to wade through 5 pages of AFA graded shit. Things like that just make me openly hate and despise my own hobby sometimes. I truly hope never sell and HTS chokes on them so badly they never make the mistake of trying it again. |

its really hard to spot a complete stranger from being a scalper
imho in my case, i see familiar faces who own specialty/hobby shops and see them in my local toy stores who buys alot of shortpacked items after awhile when i visit their store, i see those items being sold at scalper prices also, in ebay, you can spot those scalpers selling 2 or 3 times the SRP |

Scalpers have to be observed over time to know what they are. We have a scalper at my walmart I work at and he is there every night trying to clean out anything short-packed or rare. He shows up right about unloading time and sticks around if he sees a box he may want to investigate. If this guy comes by, I can guarantee anything rare that was sitting around will be gone and junk left behind. The only time he fails is when we have too much of something like when we were overloading with TF2 crap and now IM2 toys. Other than that, this guy clears out anything from SW, GI Joe, to Yu-gi-oh cards and Barbies. He's really annoying.
