So we have the crappy toy thread...what are some toys that you just couldnt destroy? Toys that you still have a nice vintage collection of because they stood the test of time!
I have a nice handfull of MOTU stuff that I just couldnt bust. I mean 20 something years later and they still stand upright with good, tight articulation...I think you got your moneys worth with those things. I hear some ppl complaing about Joes. Yeah 0 rings snapped here and there, but overall I think I for what I put them through..they held up really nice. Vehicles too, most of my issues are missing parts because they snapped off..didnt "break" just came apart and got lost. Lastly, I think everything Marvel put its name on has been quality. My Secret Wars figures need minor paint work, other than that..still tough. Marvel Legends kept up nice, and even the X-Men and Marvel figures from Toy-Biz in the late 80's. Some scratches, but thats it...and I played with those things..ROUGH! |

I had a Batman figure from the 90's I tried to destroy. I must have tied a billion firecrackers to that thing, but it wouldn't blow up!

I have most of my Fisher Price Adventure and Little People from when I was a kid that were beaten, dropped, submerged, burried, kicked, clawed and painted on. Other then having some paint wear and loose limbs they are still nearly 100% intact....my kids play with them now and the process is starting all over again. These damn things are nearly 35 years old and counting.....

WWF LJN and MOTU. My mom kept all my MOTU from when I was a kid. I let my son play with them now. He beats the hell out of them. They still last.

Tonka Trucks... aside from the rust [and risk of lock jaw] you don't get any better than the old stamped sheet metal construction vehicles.

Those things were tough as hell. I would sit in my dump trucks and ride it down my drive way, fill it with bricks, leave it outside...could'nt bust it. Around Christmas time I went shopping looking for one just for the hell of it....all plastic. Weak flimsy ass plastic.....they shouldnt even say Tonka on em! |
