Thought it was really good, aside from a few hang-ups.

Actually, it was CLASSIFIED who wasn't satisfied with the results from the last poll, so don't try to spin this as being the "nitpicker hater" fault.

Which I see you took promptly retracted
Whether the movie was any good becomes the real issue when you make comments like the one above. Whether GI Joe fans enjoyed their experience doesn't measure how good the movie is. Frankly, lots of people enjoy movies they know are subpar, simply because the movie is based on a property or theme they enjoy. But I bet a lot of those same people wish that the quality of those movies was better than Hollywood has given them. That's the whole point of the haters argument - yes, we finally got a GI Joe movie, but it sucked and we wanted better for ourselves, and for the brand. We're not happy simply because there was a movie with GI Joe slapped on it. We know it can be done, Iron Man did it, Dark Knight did it, there's no reason that with as much of a budget as GI Joe was given, we should have got such a crappy movie. The other poll clearly shows otherwise. 47% said it was good, the rest said it was average, or bad. I believe what you are saying is that the people who enjoyed the movie are only saying they enjoyed it because it was a GI Joe movie. That isn't true. The people that enjoyed the movie enjoyed it because it was a good movie. I don't enjoy movies that are sub par because they are based on a property or theme I enjoy. I didn't like Transformers 2, Batman Begins, odd numbered Star Trek movies, Ghost Rider, and so forth and so on. I don't think there was anything wrong with the quality of RoC, but I get that people like to complain. I resent the implication that people that enjoyed the movie did so "simply because there was a movie with GI Joe slapped on it". Haters think "it sucked and we wanted better for ourselves and for the brand". Are your tastes more refined than the rest of us? Are we willing to settle for garbage while you demand a superior product? Are you some how better than everyone else? Iron Man wasn't as good as you think it was. I liked it but RoC was better. The other poll was flawed, this poll proves that, re read my post responding to CIAD. |

For the record, I was satisfied with the previous polls results, but not the Hater's inaccurate interpretation of those results. It is the nitpicker hater's fault because if they hadn't of spun the previous poll's results then Rocky would never have demanded a new poll. |

I just wanted something that could not have been spun either way. I am going to be completely honest. The reason I never did a Poll that simple is cause' I thought ROC would have been killed. Never............ AND I MEAN NEVER........ did I think ROC would be on top no matter how you worded it!
I still stand by my assesment that a true poll done Hollywood style would put ROC in a bad light. I don't think 50% is a bad number but it certainly does not make anyone jump up and scream win, correct? So I call a Truce........... no more talk of Polls. Anything goes but no Poll talking it gets no where. 3 Frackin' Polls and still no closer to a resolution! Its time to move on from this discussion and if I can move on then so can the rest of you gents......LOL. |

Are my tastes more refined than yours? Based on what you've said so far, yup. I never said that made me better than anyone else. Quote:

Spin it however you want, you started a new poll to prove something (which, again, was never really in question).

And yet you're still responding to me...
And that's where we have to agree to disagree. Read the review thread. It's all over in the place in there that fans liked it simply because it was GI Joe on the big screen. Resent it all you want, but the bottom line is, a large number of fans around here said, "Look, it had huge flaws but it was GI JOE ON THE BIG SCREEN!" when reviewing the film. So yes, I would argue that many enjoyed it simply because it was GI Joe on the big screen. Are my tastes more refined than yours? Based on what you've said so far, yup. I never said that made me better than anyone else. I'll let that stand on it's own, as proof of my taste being more refined than yours. This poll can't prove anything if whether people enjoyed it and whether people thought it was any good are two different things, which is what you argued in your last post. All it proves is that fans enjoyed seeing a GI Joe movie on the big screen. Which again, was never up for debate. Spin it however you want, you started a new poll to prove something (which, again, was never really in question). I don't think I read the review thread, but from the sound of it, it probably reinforces my previous point that people like to complain. Should I assume then that you voted that you enjoyed the movie? Based on your argument that those that voted that they did, did so only because it was GI Joe, and that you enjoyed it for the same reason, then I have to assume that you did. I don't believe more refined is the correct term, too picky seems more accurate to me. I enjoyed Iron Man. Having children, and it being a superhero movie that appeals to children, I don't think it did a well enough job of letting the viewer (children) know that Tony before becoming Iron Man wasn't such a great guy. His treatment of women (on the airplane in particular) isn't behavior that I would want my son to emulate. I also didn't care for how he dispatched his captors via flamethrower after escaping his imprisonment. That being said, they were both movies intended to be seen by kids, and in that respect, RoC was superior. Other than that they were equal, to the best of my recollection. I didn't start this poll to prove anything, I started it for entertainment purposes only. I'm getting now that your argument has changed again. Now you're settling for people only liked it because it was GI Joe, down from it wasn't good, down from the vast majority didn't like it, but let me guess, that was your argument all along, correct? |

What I said was, only 47% said in the other poll it was praiseworthy, and that of the 75% of those in this poll who enjoyed RoC, a very large portion of them did so only because it was GI Joe on the big screen, and not because the movie was any good. So yeah, that was my argument all along, nothing has changed.

Gallup doesn't do this many polls about a presidential election.
