my two cents.....I was disappointed. Mostly because I choose to be. I have this image of my beloved Joe's in their iconic gear and anything less bums me out. I wont go into tons of detail. I will say Scarlett and Baroness were hot and Brendan Fraiser was so horribly funny I watched his scene 4 times. I think if I had never seen anything about G.I. Joe I would have like it. Sadly, this is not the case.

I did make a point and someone supported that point and then you said to knock it off did you forget that?
But here is another point. 65% of the people like ROC........ its not a landslide or a major victory but its still proves that you are wrong. Most people here like like and most people here thought it was pretty good to excellent. What is your point in trying to prove that to be incorrect? or more appropriately why are you so hell bent on proving it wrong? You confuse my taste for common sense........ I can feel that ROC was an average film but still defend it and I know that bothers you and Crimson.....so ignore me or get over it but thats how I feel. I am on the fence and my voice in this debate is that us folks on the fence fall more towards the like then dislike. If someone else who was on the fence wants to step up and support or dissagree then so be it but I don't see that happening. Main Entry: average Function: adjective Date: 1770 1 : equaling an arithmetic mean 2 a : being about midway between extremes <a man of average height> b : not out of the ordinary : common <the average person> The connotation in asking someone if they liked a film and they say it was average it means they did not love it or hate it correct? It was just in the middle on par with what they expect from that genre of film. So where as CON AIR would be a perfect mindless blockbuster film Street Fighter would be a Horrible Mindless blockbuster film and ROC would fall in the middle. Thats not a bad thing..... only in your mind Derek is average bad........ I don't get it? Last edited by Rocky; 12-10-2009 at 09:36 PM.. |

Seriously, you have choosen your side and that choice is clear, you love ROC and fully defend and support it. |

So it proves me wrong about what, exactly? That the movie sucked? A 48% approval rating hardly proves that. A good movie, Iron Man, has an 8 of 10 at IMDB. That's pretty good. RoC? 5.9. Not so hot. Quote:
That's something we can both agree on.

ROC haters hate everyhting about the film. From casting to toys. They give no credit where credit is due. Everything to them is a failure. ROC Lovers - fall into two categories: 1) Love everyhting about the film. From casting to toys. They give a lot of credit where credit is not due. Everything to them is a success. 2) Those that see the goal that was set and achieved. That it did what it set out to do which is grow the brand into a worldwide market that it has not done in 25 years or so. We can point out the failures and success as well but still keep an objective view on the whole picture. Now I cannot do that because Haters like you and Derek dont' really want to debate you guys just want to talk crap about the film without bringing anything to the table. So I don't get a chance to talk about the failures cause you guys have me on the ropes.....lol Look, I said ROC toys were a success months ago as was the film and you and DEREK argued and argued only to see that I was correct. Now the DVD is a success and you guys are coming around to that. Polls show that people like the film and you guys are trying to manipulate the numbers but whatever you guys are going to do your thing and thats cool. I just think its a joke now....... even this thread and no dissrespect to any of us but this is just the Debate thread x2. |

48% of the people liked RoC, not 65%. My point was, even if you add the neutral parties, it's not a great approval rating. Without the neutral parties, (who really aren't giving a thumbs up) its a dismal approval rating.
I'm not trying to prove more people disliked RoC than liked it. My point is, the movie sucked, and the approval rating of 48% reflects that. That's something we can both agree on. And let me ask you one thing......... who are you trying to prove this to? You seem intelligent......in your best intelligent guess who has changed their mind based on your rants? |

You should have said in the intial post no debate allowed......LOL. Also would you mind shooting me that thing you were talking about on how and why you picked the wording on your poll if you do not mind. I will not share it with anyone...... if you cannot I understand. |
