[QUOTE=martinjdekay;1228381]
Eventually, I plan on converting a wall into shelving for comics and figures with interchangeable dividers and plexies. Also, a good amount of books I’ve stockpiled are just to wallpaper my basement bathroom. [QUOTE] I'm planning on the same thing, I think I found a good solution, I'll be getting two of these big shelf units from Ikea and using the bottom shelves with the pull out drawer inserts for the comics while figures and other books, DVDs, etc. will go on the tops shelves. IKEA | Storage furniture | Bookcases | EXPEDIT | Bookcase Right now I have 3 long boxes behind the sofa broken up like this. 1 long box Transformers 1 long box Half Transformers Half G.I. Joe 1 long box other stuff and bags, boards, etc. |

I just downsized from 30 longboxes to maybe a dozen mixed long and short. Most are alphabetical/character organized but lately I've slacked off and just started dropping them in as they're bought and read.
I also used to be a strict bags and boards type of guy, but once I downsized I found that it's not that big of a priority for me on the average once-a-month type of issue. Most of the books I've picked up in the last six months are going commando. |

3 long boxes of everything I bought between 1980 whenever and the late 90s except old Marvel Joe books. By publisher then alphabetical by title.
Then I have 13 short boxes arranged on a shelf system. Two boxes are dedicated to all Joe titles, then boxes arranged by artists or writers such as J. Scott Campbell box, Turner box, Loeb/Sale box, Risso/Azzerello (100 Bullets) box, Frank Miller box and then current titles I am reading sorted by publisher.

I'm a reader. So whatever. I have about 5 boxes of comics I read. Mainly vintage stuff like Rom, dr. strange, silver surfer, complete run of death head, swamp thing, etc.
Then I have Heavy Metal magazine on the side of my bed. |

I have my signed comics in 35 short boxes, Silver age comics in 8 long boxes, Bronze age in 15 long boxes, modern age in 22 long boxes. Comics for sale in 74 long boxes.
You have your comics organized in an electronic database, or you only have files on your computer? Digital comics are not the future. Comics will die before they are exclusively digital. More old timers collect than young people. Welcome to the end. ;-)

I have a crap load of comic books from the 70's that are eratic..most of them are Incredible Hulk and some really off beat stuff like "Contest Of Champions", Marvel Presents...etc. Those are all together, bagged and boarded in alot of rubbermaid things. Then I have all long cardboard boxes and things are in order of title..so 1 box is all Punisher, the next is all Hulk etc etc...then the boxes waaaaaaaay in the back of the closet are things I wont reach for or are incomplete..alot of Predator, Star Wars comics..the Dark Horse stuff.
And of course I keep my G.I. Joe Classic and Essential: Tomb Of Dracula...right next to my ESPN magazines...which are right next to the toilet bowl |
