not sure if this has been mentioned or not.
on major bloods card 1983 it shows a poem he wrote "a mercenary's job is a heartless one/i'm a soldier for hire, like a pawn shop gun/my ruthless tacticskeep you pn your toes/ 'cause ill fight 'em all, whether friends or foes!" so ihave another vintage card along with a 25th card that says "when your feeling lowand woozy/slap a fresh clip in your uzi!/ assumethe proper firing stance/and make the suckers jum and dance.

That'll be great. Thanks, Troynos. I've read the DDP ones, but it'll be good to see the Marvel ones.

I just checked it out after I read this in your post. Awesome. I'm now considering him to be a Ranger. I'd also like to use the SBS qualification as well, but that's a bit of a stretch. That would pretty much make him a Navy SEAL equivalent... which could be interesting for the Arctic Joes.

Actually there were two versions of the '83 card, one with each poem. The one with the uzi reference was first and I assume it was changed because it contains an overt reference to shooting people. I imagine the other poem was used on the 25th card for the same reason.

The Carriers were more named for their time as President.
Isn't there also a Ronald Reagan (never served, right?) and George Bush (Air Force, right?)? Found this: List of aircraft carriers of the United States Navy - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia So guess question needs to be asked as: Was there any Carriers named for non-president, non-naval officers? The USS John C. Stennis was named after a senator with no military background that I'm aware of. |

Did Flagg have anything on his record besides forming/leading Joe that would be "carrier naming worthy"?
Joe was secret, so his accomplishments there wouldn't be noted. Course, once the Joes got their own aircraft carrier, secrecy kind of went out the window...
