I love the hood.
For the little flecks of paint, if you have a steady hand, you can take them off with the tip of a sewing needle or if you're REALLY careful, you can use an x-acto knife. This is a great reason to use acrylic (water-based) paint. You can clean up little messes like that with your fingernail. The color is great and I dig the hair. This would be a GREAT "cartoon" SJ.

That's hardly a valid comparison. The comments were just making fun of the painter's work. They added nothing to the conversation, and they certainly didn't do anything to help the painter learn or grow, or even feel comfortable sharing their work and asking their advice. But that's just my 2 cents.

If we wipe out the words instead of responding appropriately and clearing the air, the problem remains. Two wrongs will never make a right.

I'm going to start by admitting that I've never customized any Joes. (unless you count the Dr. Mindbender I added extra arms to, when I was a kid) Having kitbashed some Transformers, I know how hard it is to paint small details like anything on the face of a 3 3/4" action figure.
It looks really good, as it is. Considering how photos can magnify flaws, I'm betting it looks spectacular in person. For constructive crticism, read on. If the extra bits of paint on the face are bothering you, you should be able to clean them off by using the tip of a toothpick dipped in paint thinner. If you use acrylic model paint, like I do, you can also use isopropyl alchohol. I'd put some flat clear coat on his hair and beard. The pictures make it look shiny to the point of being metallic. |

heres the simple alteration i did to my snow job. a vintage revisit!
yes, i did it to make him more resemble his vintage version, but the main reason was that the frame of his goggles was painted poorly as were his eyes. Last edited by Gung.Heaux; 07-20-2008 at 02:02 PM.. |

I'm not a customizer, but when customs are made and post on the boards your showing your customs to the world, and some will like them and some won't, and some will keep there comments to them selves and some won't either. when someone doesn't like or agree with you it should be taken as a learning process imo
